Junior was one of our highest rated defenders last year.  He might be the starting nickel day 1

Junior played in 1 game with a total of 18 Defensive snaps and 5 ST snaps last year lol. How was he one of our highest graded defenders?

I wouldn't play the starters in preseason at all.  Not even the new guys.

You can't practice real game speed though. I agree with not playing our main guys for too long, but they have to get some live game speed play in during the preseason to get ready for the real thing.

I agree.  I would play the starters for a couple of series in game 2.  The risk is low.  If it's minor bumps and bruises, you have 3 weeks to get healthy before Week 1.  Practice isn't the same thing as a preseason game.  I think it is beneficial to get a taste of live action before the regular season.  I don't like the idea of the entire starting lineup walking onto the field on September 10th for a regular season game and feeling like "We haven't done this since January."

I can only think of two starters who I might play more.  One is Anton Harrison.  Being a rookie, additional practice time against an NFL defense other than the Jaguars may be beneficial to his transition.  The other possibility would be Calvin Ridley due to the long time since his last game.  For the most part, starters should sit out the preseason.

This receiving corps will definitely be elite. I like the fact that the pressure to try to be The Man is off this year a little for Christian Kirk, I expect him to have an even bigger year this year and the tight end room will be a real strength as well. Elite offense. The only questions are in a couple places on the OL but I think things will settle down there with some continuity.

Watch out for Kirk this year man, he's really underrated the guy is good and if Ridley is his old self he will be taking a lot of attention away from Captain Kirk.

I agree with you about Christian Kirk.  I've watched that comeback against the Chargers several times, and I don't know how many critically important passes he caught in that second half, but it was a lot of them.

Yep, he was a weapon in the slot even with MJJ and Zay Jones on the outside and teams knew they had to guard Kirk. Now when Ridley starts going off, Kirk will have a field day.

Be interesting to see whose receptions Ridley’ll get. My bet is we may see Zay Jones play an important part and he will be key in the red zone but his overall numbers might come down. I could see Engram’s numbers come down slightly too. There’s only so many touches to go around. It’s a good problem to have.

Ridley is putting off the vibe of, I don’t care about anything except doing my job. He’s all business. No answering tik tok questions about the new facility, etc. He runs straight to the field while shaking his head yes to acknowledge the camera, and nothing more.

I’ve watched him do it about 4 or 5 times now. It’s cliche to say a player is playing with a chip on his shoulder, but this dude seems like he has a barn fire inside his heart ready to give 200%

I wish somebody like Shannon Sharpe or Brandon Marshall and Fred Taylor could get a 1 on 1 sit down type of interview with him. His all business attitude is highly contagious. I hope he goes for 1700 yards this year.

The battles between Ridley and Campbell during camp will be fun to watch.

Provided Lawrence is the guy everyone thinks he is, those numbers shouldn't drop much. If anything we should see an increase in Touchdowns spread around, 25 TDs in a 17 game season is pretty pedestrian.. should be become a true franchise QB with the talent around him currently it shouldn't be a stretch to expect him to be closer to 40 TDs assuming he gets better than last year. 40 is a really big number for any QB, but with the added game it's not as insane.

Only 4 QBs threw for more than 30 TDs this past season... Only Mahomes threw for over 40 TDs this past season (41).

Allen 35
Burrow 35
Geno 30

Brady threw 25 TDs on 733 attempts.. Herbert threw 25 TDs on 699 attempts.. Lawrence had 584 attempts.

When you start your statement with a dismissive expression like that, you're going to get pushback.

You could have stated everything without that clause and you don't give off airs that you still are looking for him to wash out.

Oh, he gives off airs alright.  He’s like a walking methane plant.

1010xl had a snippet from an hour ago. Ridley working Campbell man to man. Was pretty good. Ridley pressed towards the sideline working a good comeback route and made a good catch.
