I cannot WAIT for Trevor to torch the league this year!  It makes me unreasonably angry the disrespect he continues to get after that run in the 2nd half of last season.  But Nick's been on the Trevor train for a long time.

Nick, like some of us on this board, never wavered on Trevor.

Nicks always welcome in Duval (even though he’s a big Chiefs fan).

My poor suffering wife who didn’t want to attend anymore games after the 2015 season pretty much forced me to give up our season tickets. We renewed last year and now she can’t wait to go to Jags games again. I don’t ever remember this much excited anticipation for the coming season from the city but I wasn’t here for the late 90s days of success. No one is hiding their excitement behind a wall of skepticism and doubt. We naked happy now.

I barely survived the Urban year. I knew we had Trevor, of course, and then once we hired Doug I was right back at it.

I heard Nick Wright say the Jaguars should win 13 games this year and have the #1 seed.

I an back and I am fully on board the Lawrence train once again. Get your tickets folks as once this train leaves the station your not getting on it!

He is going to be a superstar this year. He will be in the MVP conversation and he will get votes this year. The O is a legit weapon and I see us winning 13 games this year with Lawrence.

When the playoffs start, the top 3 QB's will be Mahomes, Burrow and Lawrence. Guaranteed.

I would say pump the brakes a bit.

We should have a top 10 offense again, but our defense is still mediocre and I do have concerns about the o-line, Trevor’s acumen and quick throws notwithstanding.

I think we win the division and make the playoffs but I’m not so sure about a 1 seed

I agree with that assessment.

The offense may be good enough to hit 10 or 11 wins and breeze into the playoffs, but injuries at the wrong time or wrong positions could quickly derail things. OL and defense are still wildcards. Could hurt us in some matchups.

I'm still saying 9 or 10 wins and AFCS champs. And Lawrence cements himself as one of the elite QBs.

After that - it's all about who is healthy and streaky in the playoffs.

I don’t know man, Lawrence is already a superstar. The national media/espn has been out to camp. The talk shows are talking about the Jaguars much like in 2000 after we had that 14-2 season in 1999.

Lawrence is getting a ton of love and they are putting him on the list of “premier QBs” of the NFL.

Pete Prisco from CBS Sports has predicted Lawrence as the league MVP for 2023. Guests on 1010xl are predicting Lawrence in the top 3 MVP candidates and has also said they have a chance to play in the Super Bowl this season.

He's definitely getting a lot of respect this summer and he seems the trendy pick to take a big jump or be the next big thing but I still think there are people that would put Allen, Herbert, Lamar maybe Tua ahead of him if they were ranking. The only thing you can really hold against Lawrence is the other players have had a number of seasons in the league and having great performances and Lawrence is starting year 3, but it's really year 2. He just needs those years of continued success.

I just think by the end of the season it's going to be agreed league wide and media wide that the top 3 are Mahomes, Burrow and Lawrence but you are right, he's getting a lot of love out there right now and rightly so.

All it takes is one bad hit and all these astronomical expectations come plummeting back down to earth. I temper a lot of these enthusiasms knowing that joy can be very fleeting.

Nick can say what he wants, shooting for the low bar don't get you retweets and clickthroughs. He's doing business.

It doesn’t help that Lawrence is a little on the spindly side, but he’s also tough. There’s been a few instances when I was sure he was done for and yet he came back into the game.

With the weapons he has this season, getting the ball out quickly (the secret to Manning and Brady’s longevity) shouldn’t be an issue.

really not to be annoying, but these kind of plays happen at every single game by most NFL quarterbacks.  Nice plays, sure. But 30+ quarterbacks are capable of doing it.  Some do it very consistently, others just flash.
