Whether those two plays in particular are the best examples on not... well, I'd concede there are better examples from Lawrence on film, but he makes plenty of throws reserved for only upper tier NFL QBs. And he makes a fair number of them from outside a pocket that never existed for him to utilize, while under pressure. Yes - that's part of being an NFL quarterback - but if it isn't clear to you yet that he has some rather rare abilities in this regard - I'd wager that will become clear for you between now and January. Did you know Lawrence holds the next gen stats record for a completion made beyond 20 yards while running laterally at the highest rate of speed? (IIRC - he hit MJJ 30 yards downfield while evading a speedy pass rusher running at a silly rate of MPH) We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Also, this is just an extremely small sample size. He’s been making reads and throws like that his whole career. He continually likes to push the ball to the 2nd level but last year was the first time he had people who could separate and catch those balls.

Lawrence has enough fire power at WR to get us two 1,000 yard receivers which hasn’t been done since Hurns and Allen did it back in 2015. Before that it hasn’t been done since 2001 with Smith and McCadell.
Two 1k WRs in Jaguars History: Smith and McCardell - 1996 Smith and McCardell - 1997 Smith and McCardell - 2000 Smith and McCardell - 2001 **** Hurns and Allen - 2015 The only season Jacksonville had 2 WRs go over 1,000 yards and have a RB rush for 1,000 yards in a single season is 2000. 2000: Taylor - 1399 yards rushing (then team record) Smith - 1213 yards receiving McCardell - 1207 yds receiving In 2000, the trio combined to score 25 TDs. Taylor scored 12 times, Smith scored 8 times, and McCardell scored 5 times. That same season Kyle Brady set a (then) team record 729 yards receiving and added 3 TDs. Brunell added 2 more rushing TDs. Taylor, Smith, McCardell, Brady, and Brunell scored a total of 30 touchdowns in 2000. -Stat Man

But 30+ quarterbacks are capable of doing it. Some do it very consistently, others just flash. Not to be annoying but you’re wrong. But there’s a common thought that Trevor’s best 4-5 games last year are a prediction of what he’s going to be going forward. Is that possible? Yes and I’m looking forward to it. But he also did finish the season (last 5 games IIRC) with a qbr of like 72 which is very below average. I still think he’s got some accuracy issues and decision making issues. He’s not a finished product by any means, but he’s got great upside and could develop into a top 5 qb.

Whether you feel some of the early mistakes were a factor of learning a new offense and being essentially a rookie in his second year (due to the crazy crap in his first year) for example. I think we’re in for more of what we saw in the second half of the season and even better with the familiarity with Pederson’s offense and the addition of Ridley. I think Pete Prisco may be on to something. Sure, MVP is not necessarily something I’d bet on but I think he has the capability, system and supporting cast for it to happen.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

He simply hasn't done it consistently over enough time for some folks to get it yet. What those folks don't seem to understand is that very few have these abilities and now he's settling into a system that will allow that consistency to flourish. You'll be on board soon. As of now - you're just a little slow. Not to be a jerk - but that's how it is. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

When people talk about his elite “second half of the year” do they mean the last 5 games too? A rating of 72. I’ve been around long enough to be patient with my expectations. I think right now he’s a top 10-12 QB with upside. He’s got to show dignificant improvement to be considered among the top 5 QBs in the NFL.

If getting hung up on QBR in 5 games that included 4 wins is your way of determining the kids trajectory, then have at it. I'm not doing that. I know what I saw. I'm confident in my armchair analysis.
In 3 playoff games (I’m counting TN) he had one excellent half of football.
One abysmal (historically bad) Mediocre otherwise That’s how he played when it mattered most.

In a new system with a new coach and a wide cast of new players all within one year. We went from Dumpster Meyer to Doug Pederson. His ceiling is higher than most QB's we've seen in Jacksonville in years. He's nowhere near to being a finished product. Just not sure what you're looking for though. A lot of premier QB's start off somewhat like this. Had we hired Doug Pederson right off the bat? We're probably seeing a more polished Lawrence in those three games you're referring to where he was ho-hum. Also, it's still a team effort. I felt he played relatively well in Kansas City and it was honestly the players around him that let HIM down. Kirk dropping a bomb early. Agnew fumbling inside the redzone. Defense giving up a [BLEEP] scoring drive to Chad Henne. Come on now. For a guy making his play-off debut in the NFL. You know you have to admit that [BLEEP] was pretty fun to see against the Chargers. How many QB's can you think of that has put themselves in a hole like that and dug themselves out like that? Not many. What about the other games that got us to that point? The road win in tennessee? The comeback against Dallas? Baltimore? You realize, that, if Griffin doesn't get caught with his pants down against Ryan on the road in INDY that we didn't even need that last win on the year against the tacks for the divisional win? He's shown something the elite QB's always show. Poise under pressure. That's rare to find in any QB. He does make throws not many can make and it's obvious he's fixing to ascend into the big three conversation at his position. It's inevitable. Just enjoy it. You should already know which one since you're so focused on how bad his performance was in those games. The other three stat lines are from three very famous QBs of the last twenty years first three playoffs games. Can you figure out which one is which QB?

4 looks like Rodgers.
