Hallett is likely taking Claybrooks spot. I see that writing on the wall. They have Hallett doing gunner drills, and Washington doing backup returner stuff-  which were the only things saving Claybrooks from being cut. 

Wouldn't be surprised if Herndon and/or Thomas stick, mainly because staff may not want 75% of secondary depth to be rookies.

At practice they have TEs broken into groups for drills. 

The Engram and Prince group do half as many blocking drills and focus on routes/hands.

The Farrells and Stranges focus more on blocking. 

Don't look to Farrell's catch numbers to learn anything about why he sits where he is on the depth chart.

Yes, depth chart wise, that should happen sooner than later. 

I was referring to being pushed off the 53, but I agree he should be the 4th TE at some point in the next 3 months.

Personally - based on the guys we have in camp right now - I'd like to see them stash Reyes on the PS and supplant Farrell with Reyes at the bye if he's ready. His upside blocking and catching is higher IMO. 

6'5" - 260# - 4.6 forty time - just a raw player with only a year of NCAA football and a year on an NFL PS.

I agree.  Are we really to believe that Strange is less likely to make the team and/or contribute than Farrell this season?  Not a chance.  I think it's very clear that if it the position battle was even remotely close, the top spot went to the veteran.  Pederson doesn't want draft picks to feel entitled.  He wants them to work for it.  Most of these rookies will move up the chart as the preseason progresses.  A depth chart is also a moment in time.  On cut day, in addition to who's better right now, Baalke/Pederson will consider salary, age, and potential to improve.  All of that is going to work in the draft picks' favor.

Chaisson is in his 4th NFL year and has the same birth year as rookie Tyler Lacy. Forgot how young he came into the league. Maybe not all is lost with him and he can become a decent situational pass rusher this year.
