They have Hallett doing gunner drills, and Washington doing backup returner stuff- which were the only things saving Claybrooks from being cut. Bottom line, Farrell sucks. Dude can't catch and he's not some type of elite blocker. My guess is that he doesn't even make the roster. He's #1 because Strange is a rookie. Kind of like adding another QB category and listing CJ Beathard as #1 because he is really good at handing the ball off. We show less advertisements to registered users. I think the coaches like him better than you and I do, though. Year 2 of knowing the blocking/protection schemes helps his status as well If he'a pushed off the roster, it's a sign of progress, but best guess is that happens next year. Respect the game. Play with a sense of urgency.
1.) Take care of the ball. Win the turnover battle. 2.) It's all about 3rd down. Win on 3rd down to win the game. 3.) Playmakers make plays. The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays. Learn from the great collapse of 2023.

I think Farrell is developing into a contributing average TE in this league. In the 3 practices that I have attended this year, he is getting significant reps and, although not his strong suit, has caught the ball well. Not everyone on a team's roster will compete for a pro-bowl nomination.

I was referring to being pushed off the 53, but I agree he should be the 4th TE at some point in the next 3 months. (maybe 3 weeks) Personally - based on the guys we have in camp right now - I'd like to see them stash Reyes on the PS and supplant Farrell with Reyes at the bye if he's ready. His upside blocking and catching is higher IMO. 6'5" - 260# - 4.6 forty time - just a raw player with only a year of NCAA football and a year on an NFL PS. Played one game for the commanders that included this block, LOL. https://twitter.com/NickiJhabvala/status...31336?s=20 https://twitter.com/NickiJhabvala/status...31336?s=20

Fair take, but he's about to be leapfrogged on the depth chart by this kid: https://twitter.com/JStCyrTV/status/1689...16417?s=20 https://twitter.com/JStCyrTV/status/1689...16417?s=20

He's more like a Toyota Camry (an average car, typically found in many NFL garages as a backup) than a Ford Pinto (piece of garbage), in my opinion, was my point. Are we really to believe that Strange is less likely to make the team and/or contribute than Farrell this season? Not a chance. I think it's very clear that if it the position battle was even remotely close, the top spot went to the veteran. Pederson doesn't want draft picks to feel entitled. He wants them to work for it. Most of these rookies will move up the chart as the preseason progresses. A depth chart is also a moment in time. On cut day, in addition to who's better right now, Baalke/Pederson will consider salary, age, and potential to improve. All of that is going to work in the draft picks' favor.
Chaisson is in his 4th NFL year and has the same birth year as rookie Tyler Lacy. Forgot how young he came into the league. Maybe not all is lost with him and he can become a decent situational pass rusher this year.

Also, you don't pick a TE in the 2nd round to sit behind an unproductive 3rd year player that was previously selected in the 5th round by a prior failed regime. Since we're taking this the extra mile, I'd like to stipulate that we are talking base model Camry here. Zero options. ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users.
