Not to be annoying but you’re wrong.

30 NFL QBs can’t make that play or they would all have a Lawrence/Mahomes/Burrow. 

Also, this is just an extremely small sample size. He’s been making reads and throws like that his whole career. He continually likes to push the ball to the 2nd level but last year was the first time he had people who could separate and catch those balls.

Look, we can agree to disagree.  He’s shown a lot of promise. But he’s not Mahomes/Burrow yet. I hope he can get there.

But there’s a common thought that Trevor’s best 4-5 games last year are a prediction of what he’s going to be going forward. Is that possible? Yes and I’m looking forward to it.

But he also did finish the season (last 5 games IIRC) with a qbr of like 72 which is very below average.

I still think he’s got some accuracy issues and decision making issues. He’s not a finished product by any means, but he’s got great upside and could develop into a top 5 qb.

Can someone remind me when the Loins game was?

I've never been as unsettled as I was after watching him take that hit. That he was back and still keeping this team in the hunt was quite a dang accomplishment, stats be darned.

When people talk about his elite “second half of the year” do they mean the last 5 games too? A rating of 72. 

I’ve been around long enough to be patient with my expectations. I think right now he’s a top 10-12 QB with upside. 


He’s got to show dignificant improvement to be considered among the top 5 QBs in the NFL.

If getting hung up on QBR in 5 games that included 4 wins is your way of determining the kids trajectory, then have at it. 

I'm not doing that. I know what I saw. I'm confident in my armchair analysis.

This sounds like something you do (justifiably) when Daniel Jones is your QB.

I think the above have all proven more and would be ranked a bit higher than Trevor.

Trevor is in that very next category but can fly tirade to be the 2nd or third best QB any given Sunday.

If he makes it more consistent (more than 3-4 times a year) he will be pushing for Mahomes. 

It’s not a great group of QBs. Lots of the great ones are old or retired.  If he makes a step forward he could be considered one of the elites for a very long time.

I would definitely roll with Herbs before either of them if I am looking beyond 2024. Lamar is going to have to take a chapter out of Randall Cunningham's book and learn to beat teams with his arm. He's hurt too often for me to put him among the elites.

Because he's a great athlete who's carried his team a long ways without being a great thrower. Now he's starting to break down, so I'm glad he got his money before he's just average.

I don't know man. He's on pace to hit those top billing remarks he had coming out of Clemson. He's in that Andrew Luck / Peyton Manning column for a reason. He started showing it in full display last year down the stretch and showed that he has a clutch gene in his blood as well. 

It's very, very possible, that, he's in the MVP conversation this year. Especially with this schedule. Primetime games are going to be fun to watch this year. Looking forward to SNF with the Ravens and MNF with the Bengals. Those are going to be opportunities for him to make a statement on a larger scale and cement his name in the top two, three conversation. 

It's amazing what this kid has done in two years already. Urban Meyer looks like a [BLEEP] idiot the more and more he flourishes. Amazing what a competent coach can do for a superstar talent at one of the most toughest and premier positions in all of sports. It'll be some [BLEEP] if he out duels Mahomes early in September and then does it again in the play-off's.

From an arm talent standpoint, I'd buy what Ridley's selling. This year we'll see if the comparison is valid.

To be fair to Allen, my guy went toe-toe with Mahomes in the playoffs and had a lead with 12 seconds left, I don't really consider that choking, at least not Allen. That defense definitely choked.

Because Allen has displayed elite level arm talent and Lamar has an elite combination of dual threat skill.

Playoff wins/losses don't always factor into various conversations about these players. 

If you insist on including that it would change a lot of conversations/articles/rankings etc.
