I believe he'd be an upgrade from Herndon.

He is 5'10 200 lbs. Also why eat 2.5 million in dead cap?

He's 10 lbs heavier than Herndon.  To upgrade the nickel position with a vet

He's a name, that's all. The Texans opted to cut him and not Shaq Griffin. What's that tell you about his play these days?

10lbs heavier but an inch shorter. his first year in the league was 2017. Tre's was 2018 so next year Herndon will be a vet? (6 is not a vet?)

I'll always love JRob but the RB market is brutal right now. He still can offer teams something but its hard when your bouncing around teams to find somewhere you can learn an O and get snaps.

Hope he gets a job somewhere this season.

Yes Herndon is a vet that needs to be upgraded.  If there is an upgrade oit there you get him.  King is better than Herndon

They are all names.  King had a 73 PFF grade last year while Herndon had a 55.  King would be a nice upgrade That's good they kept Griffin, better for us.

Ok, so we replace a guy who has been in our system for a year with a shorter slower player that got beat out by Shaq Griffin.  In the process we eat 2.5 million in dead cap and pay him another 1-2 million so a 4 to 5 million dollar expense for a backup.  Who is most likely no better, but has a bigger name?  I believe we can find a better investment.

The Jags spent a good chunk of money to re-sign Tre Herndon, so there is no way that they are going to cut him and take a dead money hit for someone that isn't really an upgrade, hasn't played for the Jags, doesn't know the playbook, etc.

I am still scratching my head why Chassion has a chance to make the roster. He must be an Ace special teamer.

He's exactly that, a 4 core ST player. The ST coach raves about him and our depth at OLB is garbage so he makes the team because of those two factors.

A first round draft pick being a elite special teamer
