I think that's exactly what he's trying to do.  He left Philly because ownership wouldn't let him promote Press.  He's thankful for the opportunities his head coaches gave him and he's paying it forward to someone he believes in.

I didn't like the QB sneak on 3rd and 2 call. That was a little weird to me. The rest I felt was pretty solid besides a few series of, IMO, too many forced runs in a row.

Actually I kind of liked it on 3rd down, it definitely caught Indy by surprise.. Without the stumble TL gets the first down. What I didn't like is doing it again on 4th.

Pederson called plays in the first half of games in 2022, with Taylor calling plays in second halves. Pederson confirmed the news of the change following Sunday's victory. "Press and I have been talking about this for two years now, and it's something I've thought a lot about," Pederson said. "It's not an easy decision without a lot of conversation and just he and I talking about it. He and I have been together now seven years. We kind of know each other. I trust him wholeheartedly. That's why he's my offensive coordinator. He makes good decisions. He's well prepared. It gives me an opportunity to stay engaged within the game and decision-making in the game and help out all three phases a little bit more and deal with officials. It's not easy, but at the same time, I felt like this was the right opportunity."

Maybe it is true but it reads like a half truth at best and looking to cover for the terrible play calling in his 1st game doing that.

Had the announcement not been made prior to the game, I don't think the "bad play calling" narrative would be getting nearly as much play around here.  All the criticism would have been focused on the execution as you say.  One of the plays in question though, the 3rd down and 2 sneak, was brought up on the radio program last night and I can't remember if they said Trevor, in fact, audibled to it or if he probably audibled to it.

This makes a lot of sense to me as well, I thought we were pretty conservative. I wasn't a fan of that 3 run sequence either. to be fair, I was saying on my couch how much I didn't like that and I didn't even see where Press was calling anything until Monday lol

Yeah. After the overreaction and what not. We walked out of there with a 10 point lead. That's with us gifting them 7 with the fumble. Defensively we played really well. Offensively we got off to a sluggish start but managed to put 14 points up when it mattered the most in Q4.

The Chiefs lost to the Lions in Arrowhead.
The Bengals with Big Bucks Burrow got murdered by Cleveland. 
The Bills got beat by a Rodgerless Jets offense. 

These are supposed to be the teams that are to be feared 17 weeks from now. Granted, it's EARLY AS HELL. But, BUT, we did have at least a better start than these guys AND we even get a direct say in how the final seeding shakes out this year potentially with all of them on our schedule. 

It's the year of the underdog man. Hear me now. Believe me later. It started with Colorado beating TCU. I expect our team, the Dolphins and Chargers to be pushing for an AFC Title run this year more than those other guys listed above.
