Fortner with a “lower body” injury

#21

They were limited today, the tell will be what status they have after Friday. If they're both limited I would be a little worried as they're likely game time decisions. I would think they'd make a roster move if they didn't expect either to be able to go.

They're expected to play. Was announced on the 1010XL show.

Do you want to imagine either matched up with Chris Jones?

Just seeing if y'all were paying attention.

I remember learning about that in EMT school. They were trying to be indirect by calling it a lower body injury

I was just making a joke. After reading more on the situation I see the dude is fine.

A player suffering from that wouldn't prevent him from playing, it would prevent anyone from wanting him to play.

I’m thinking that Darryl Williams may be made available from the PS on Sunday to give the team more flexibility for game time.
Respect the game.  Play with a sense of urgency.

1.)  Take care of the ball.  Win the turnover battle.

2.)  It's all about 3rd down.  Win on 3rd down to win the game.

3.) Playmakers make plays.  The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays.

Learn from the great collapse of 2023.

If I were bringing one up from PS, that is who I'd choose.

Here's what I'd do to strengthen the softies on the inside. Weekly competitions to be held before Wednesday practices. Winners to start the ensuing Sunday games.
  • Winner of leg and bench press competition between Fortner, Shatley, Williams/interior OL player from another team's PS starts at Center.
  • Winner of leg and bench press competition between Bartsch, Shatley, Williams/interior OL player from another team's PS starts at Left Guard.

Notes:
  • If Williams fails to win either competition in two weeks, he's cut and replaced by an interior OL player from another team's PS.
  • If interior OL player from another team's PS fails to win either competition in the next two weeks, he's cut and another is signed to replace him.
  • After Cam Robinson returns, Little and Robinson compete in pass-blocking one-on-ones vs. Allen & Walker to determine who starts at LT. The loser plays Left Guard and remaining backup scrubs continue competing at Center.
  • After Cam's return, if Fortner, Bartsch, or Shatley fail to win the center competition in two weeks, he's cut and replaced by an interior OL player from another team's PS.
  • Rinse and repeat.
  • If Scherff continues his underwhelming play after Cam's return, his spot becomes subject to open competition. He gets a pass for now since he's the strongest of the weak links.
