Whew yea we need some shade in the upper decks. People where dropping like crazy. My wife and daughter left in the third and waited in the car wife was feeling real sick in the heat. My son getting water saw three or four people getting medical attention it was bad.

The terms of lease and P/L revenue from a collection of businesses that are proposed to exist adjacent to the stadium are 100% undetermined. Lots of ways that can shake out. 

Profit share from Jags games in the stadium is likely on the table as well - though it will likely move forward in a similar fashion to its current arrangement. If there's wiggle room to get a deal done, they'll find it. Both sides want to make this happen.

I don't understand what your point is.

Every business in every town/city/county is so the owner of the business can make the most money.
The city/town/county benefit is always to make some money on the taxes of having the business in within their boundaries, and use that business to spur other business and home owners. 

So just because Khan is doing what literally every businessman everyone does and the city of Jax is doing what every city/town/county does, it is somehow wrong and not worth doing?

I live in Nassau County, and I swear to god, everyone here is willing to have a small tax hike to get this done. There are kids growing up north of Jax and south of Jax that love their location. Things are changing here, but we need to invest in it to make it better.

On top of that, the Jaguars are a huge draw. Everyone makes money off a small tax. It's the perfect investment for pennies on the dollar. As years go by, Jacksonville is only going to grow, while cities like Cleveland, Pittsburg, Buffalo will shrink. Our city, while kinda backwards in terms of infrastructure, is still growing and has so much beauty and coastal opportunity. Shad Khan is a great investor. I used to hate him. But he's patient. And that's the best thing for this city. His son needs to get his [BLEEP] together, but Shad has at least another 15 years as owner.

The city needs to start actually investing in renovations. There's so much opportunity if we can get rid of the boomers that resist progress. It's gonna be up to the voters. The deal needs to go through. The city will change, but it's a good thing. Honestly, I don't really care about investing into the city via taxation at this point. This city has so much potential. Invest!!! You invest in a city like this. You don't let it go to garbage.

There's so much opportunity here. I just don't know why people are not willing to really go full on. We could make Jax a "city of the future". There's so much space and there are so many people coming, why not get the best city planners and really build out a city we all can be happy to be within?

I don't understand what your point is.

Do we want the team to relocate? No.  Do we want to bury the city in debt for a questionable return on investment?  Also no.

I'm fundamentally opposed to helping a multi-billionaire make more billions with taxpayer money, but I recognize that's how the system traditionally works.  It's a question of numbers and balance, just like any other capital improvement.  Some, like me, want to see a complete plan and projections before putting forth an opinion. The "all in" rhetoric isn't a very wise negotiating strategy.

Well it is more than just what Kahn wants as the deal needs approval by the other owners. This is a sort of comparison benchmark for when they need new stadiums. So indeed is not just what Kahn wants, I personally don't see him as greedy. The other owners? You know that cast of characters and how they are.

Unfortunately most of our educational institutes have been compromised by money/donations. You can buy poll and study results. You just have to pay for them. (also fact check sites)

The reality of this situation right now is that there are indeed many residents opposed to it based on the notion of taxpayer dollars footing the bill.

Which makes sense.

But we haven't even gotten wind of the earliest proposals on how the city would gather funding and how much would actually come from local taxpayers.

The cart is so far out in front of the horse in these conversations it's ridiculous.

Folks need to see what the city actually negotiates with Khan and the NFL, then hear them out on where they will source the funds.

I'd wager taxes passed on to tourists are going to be a major component of the funding, just as they have been for past renovations. What if a 2 billion dollar project ends up costing the local taxpayers only 300 million over a drawn out period of time? Opinions will differ.

There are SO many ways this deal can get chopped up. Folks need to relax.
