Lawrence once again was the best player on the team. They factor in the crucial drops and lack of pass protection. Fortner and Harrison were solid. Ridley stunk it up. If he makes that first td catch its a different game. Set the entire tone. I think it's time to bench Bartch!
![]() The Defense just flat out stunk. Another stinker by Walker and no one really stood out. I thought Tyson Campbell was on his way to being elite but he got destroyed Yesterday. ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
That was the worst set of tackles that Fortner will see all year. At least hes one of the few that played up to his competition. It was also Scherff's best game of the season. Atlanta will be a real test for our interior.
Lloyd as a top 3 defender is wack
Travis Etienne should be no. 1 How Fortner is the best Olineman is a little weird Yes put in the Shat Shatley

I think Lawrence has been pretty good (although has looked towards Ridley too much). However I am surprised pff has graded 2nd best qb through 3 weeks. I would have thought on edge of top 10. But I suppose pff is crediting him for all those big time throws the wrs keep dropping.

This season so far reminds me of his rookie year when mouth breathers were showing up to wet themselves trying to be the first to call Trevor a bust.
He's playing well, but the rest of the team is showing its lack of talent. It's great that our best player is our QB, but if the rest of the team is playing like hot garbage it won't matter.
Maybe its that he doesn't have time to go through his progressions, but Lawrence is staring down his primary receiving target and then letting the ball go. He wasn't doing it in the preseason.

Yeah, game 1 he targeted Ridley way too much! 11 targets?!?!?! Ridiculous. Luckily game 2 and 3 they used him less. Weird how game 1 is the only one we've won... just ignore the ignorance.

Give Tank Bigsby more touches!!!!
Give Jamal Agnew less touches!!!! Post Script: Ridley needs to take a back seat. He's not ready to be the #1 WR right now. Dude needs to just get back into real football mode. He shouldn't be the first read of any route right now. (09-27-2023, 08:11 PM)carp8dm Wrote: Give Tank Bigsby more touches!!!! Meh When Ronald Acuna Jr has a little slump - you don't move him to the back of the order. Same with Ridley. If you want to call a handful more plays designed to target Kirk or Engram as the primary - that's cool - but Ridley stays in and he gets a fair shake of targets until he starts hitting home runs again. He will. He's really good. Overreaction doesn't fix [BLEEP] We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Dude needs to get back up to speed. Did you see how he was holding his back after that drop in the 1st Quarter? Dude isn't in true NFL shape. Dude isn't in true NFL mentality. Dude isn't in true NFL tolerance. Ridley clearly needs to get eased back into the game... He's trying to go 110 mph, which is cool. But the problem is that he's pushing so hard that he's failing. And then he's clearly getting into his own head. Let him ease into the offense. Kirk and Engram have plenty of talent to hold down the passing game. Let Ridley run open on the outside. Why pay for a deep route threat and then just play him at 10 to 15 yard out routes? As a manager, you need to put your people in the best position that they are comfortable in. Let Ridley run for a while. And then that get's me back to why we aren't using Engram and Kirk like we did last year... But that's a topic we've already discussed. I've seen got damn awful teams with awful oline protection use P/A..... I think thats not what Lawrence likes anyway but I'd def would like to use PA more especially on days where ETN is hot. They are using in a fair amount so far - I know because I cringe every time I see it thinking TL is about to get murdered. More play action is literally that last thing in the universe I would suggest to improve this offense. I think it's a very effective tool, but as of now it's a recipe for disaster. I'd sooner ask Tre Herndon to play man coverage on Drake London this Sunday than ask Trevor to run more play action than he already is. There are reasons why nearly everyone was predicting this offense to be daunting three weeks ago. And all those reasons still hold true. They just need to get out of their own way and execute the plays called without shooting themselves in the foot. it'll start clicking. And they don't need to intentionally put the QB in harms way more often to do it.
Dude, this team can take shots down the field... The O-Line still gives Trevor 2 seconds on each pass play and he's in shotgun most of the time...
I refuse to listen to the weak e excuse that we can't throw deep because the O-Line. We were throwing deep last year. And I already showed that least year's O-Line rated very similar to this years O-Line. 2 seconds is plenty of time for a QB like Lawrence. The TD pass to Ridley on Sunday (which he dropped) was thrown within 2 sends - and Trevor put it right on the money!!!!!!!! So stop with this stupid notion that our O-Line isn't good enough to allow WRs to get deep. Additionally, as the defense realizes that the offense has potential to go deep they back off more. Finally, Trevor proved last year that if the fly route wasn't there, he was more than capable of finding Engram, or Kirk, in the slot or a crossing route. I'm just so sick of this weak argument. We can go deep. We need to go deep. Playing the game within 10 yards is killing us. |
