Still has work to do as a pass rusher but I see improvement. Let's see how it goes. Inside stunts are enough to get him matched against guards.

Travon Walker: 2nd Year Thoughts Etc (merged)

He's not good, plain and simple.

He kept running himself out of a play constantly and the O-lineman would just use his momentum against him to push him past the QB or RB.

And I genuinely think he had ZERO pass rush presence today - I'll happily stand corrected if he had at least one play but I don't recall one today at all. Thankfully Josh Allen stepped up today along with RRH and the interior though.

It's becoming clear that he's not IT and is quite possibly a bust.

He got pressure a few times, had a couple QB Hits and a sack today. He was the guy who forced the pressure late in the game on that failed 4th down TD attempt.

I still think we're playing him in the wrong position.

I stand corrected then. I don't recall him having a sack in the 1st Q but I'll differ to you for the sake of it.

Ridder tried to take it up the middle, Walker stopped him a couple inches behind the line.

Walker had a sack (on the Falcons first drive I think) and at least 1 QB hit at the end.  He had a good run stop (perhaps a TFL) early as well.  There might be more.

Oh my bad, I thought they gave Walker a run stop on that play.

Yes, not a bad game from Walker today it would seem. Need to rewatch for a better perspective but he flashed at times at least and made a few meaningful plays.

Crossing all fingers and toes this is the start of a trend and not just a game vs a weaker opponent that allowed some flash.

Eh, I’ll take the sacks any way I can.
He’s nowhere near where he should be but let’s see where he ends up by the time the year finishes.

All the IR (return) guys are now eligible for return as well as Cam. Any updates on our walking wounded?

May not hear anything official until Wednesday but those guys that traveled with the team certainly have a chance to enter the lineup

Injured: Smoot, Antonio Johnson,  Zay Jones, and Cooper Hodges traveled over

Susp:  Cam Robinson traveled w/ team

Agreed. Put some weight on him and let him go inside.

Cam will 100% be starting next week. The question is will little still be in the starting lineup?

If Doug and Rauscher weren't lying when they said "find a way to get the best 5 out there" then Little will 100% be playing.

He's been their best lineman by a mile aside from allowing a few pressures/hits today.

To keep things in perspective,
In a game where the defense allows 7 points and scores 7 of their own, we really can’t complain too much about anyone in particular. He got a sack, and I think he can still improve a lot.

I can see him ending the year with about 8 sacks which is what I was about expecting from him. Not great but hopefully he makes some big plays in the coming weeks like he has shown he can.

I just want to see a game where, for at least one half or three to four series throughout the game where he's just unbearable for an offense to contain.

Just either sacking the QB, pressuring the QB, forcing a bad throw, forcing a hurried throw, etc. I cannot remember the last time I saw him do that.

When you take a player number one overall to be a DE or OLB. I am expecting him to develop into a wrecking ball, a one man wrecking crew if needed at times.

I want to see a Nick Bosa, Myles Garrett, Chris Jones or TJ Watt like performance out of him at least ONCE this year. Just ONCE.

I am not expecting him to be those guys anymore on a weekly basis or every other week. But, could we just get one big [BLEEP] game out of him?

This right here.

I want to see him do what Josh Allen did today against the Falcons, let alone what a Bosa/Garrett/Watt/etc does throughout any game.

Continue to see no evolution in his game as far as incorporating anything outside of a standard bullrush.

Other than a few double teams and a chip block thrown his way he tends to get washed out quickly along the line or fails to disengage or beat his one on one blockers.

He had a nice rush towards the end of the clips. I dont see a credited sack so I am assuming it came on a designed run by Riddick behind the line.

Some other few positives. He did drop back in a run defense or screen it looks like to make a TFL. This was with two blockers on him. He tends to be more effective when tasked with running inside the interior.

I do not like what I see from him here working the outside though. He continues to run out wide, away from the pocket, like a half moon attempt instead of using his strength to throw off the tackle outside to work back inside in between the guard's gap.

He's either been given too much freedom or he's not being coached correctly to use inside leverage. Continues to be a glaring issue when I watch him.

nice video! He had one good rush on the 4th down, very timely. He gets push when we runs right at the tackle, when he goes outside he is out of the play almost all of the time and when he cuts inside is when he has the best rushes, it seems, just not quite good enough to get a hit.
