Or, hear me out. Just take that part of the guess work out of the equation for him and say, "Hey, Trev! Good game, we're up 14 with 3:00 minutes here, we're running Johnson here off tackle with Strange and Bigsby in blocking roles, just hand it off". 

I get his argument and his point. However, you're the [BLEEP] coach who not only won a Superbowl, but, you went through this scary stuff before with Wentz getting banged up and injured. 

Hard to get mad at the QB coming off his 40th career NFL start with this [BLEEP] coach in his ear every week, knowing his tendencies, knowing how he plays and practices. It's OKAY for the coach to, you know, COACH. 

Again, take the guess work out.

With respect, I don’t care what Searcy says. Foolish situational play calling. Some responsibility on Trevor for trying to win EVERY play. Every successful war has a few lost battles. Coaches have to be better at play calls. Players have to be better at situational execution. As long as he’s not seriously injured, learn from it and move on.

Fix the O-Line!

To be fair, they do already call lots of plays in every game that are designed to limit Trevor's exposure to being clobbered since our line is what it is right now. Not like they constantly throw him to the wolves like urbz did.

That said, they likely regret that call. I imagine they adjust accordingly when holding a lead late.

I'd take it a step further and say that if the play was for the line and RB to move right while TL and one receiver roll left as it appeared - then he should have checked out of it the moment indy stacked a LB and DB outside the LT like they did.

Literally the only reason people are butt hurt about this call is because Trevor might have hurt his knee. No one said anything about the play the other times it was being run. And an injury can happen any time.

People claiming the game was over must be the same people who were leaving at the end of the third quarter because they didn’t see the colts take over the momentum in the 4th. We weren’t moving the ball much at that point either (thankfully Agnew had his big return that set up the field goal). Stay aggressive. How many times have we heard complaints when past Jag coaches have gone conservative in that situation? Pederson said he wanted to put a stake through their hearts then and there and I agree 100%.

The point is, “plays that keep our QB from getting injured” isn’t a category on the play sheet. If it is, you have the wrong coach. Bring back the ice cream sprinkles.

Again, the "momentum shift" could have been avoided completely by running it more. Goes back to the INT being tossed over the middle. People are butthurt now because there's less than three days to prepare for the Saints and he's now potentially or already in the process of splitting first team reps with Beathard. 

And, again, situation, situation, situation, situation, situation. Did I miss something during those first three quarters? When we were up 31 to 6 entering the 4th quarter? Did Minshew, after having a fumble and multiple INT's that resulted in 17+ points being scored on the day get benched for Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck, Tom Brady or John Elway? Did Patrick Mahomes sneak in after playing on Thursday night?

You can die on this hill all you want. It's admirable, foolish, but, admirable. You're in a very, very small group with this line of thinking man. Local news guys were ripping it post game, just like they ripped it today on the local shows that's Jaguars related. Say whatever you want.

It was not a wise decision, period, having your [BLEEP] QB rolling around or throwing it THAT close to the endzone with 3:00 minutes and some change to play being up 14 points already. Just bad, bad situational football and awareness there. Period. If you want to stand there and defend that turd in the teal colored punch bowl along with nejagsfan? Knock yourself out.

Situational football is more about how to attack 2nd and short vs 3rd and long or what kind of coverages to play based on what kind of routes receivers are running. I really don't like the idea of making strategy decisions based on the likelihood of a player getting hurt or not when the opponent still has life. That's like trying to play not to get hurt. If you want to look at it that way though, rolling the QB out given our line play is actually less risky than having him drop back. The call was fine, bro, you're just second guessing it because he had an injury scare and trying to justify it as some sort of prescience. If we'd run ETN up the middle and he'd hurt *his* knee I'm sure you'd be saying the same thing. Injuries can happen, it's the nature of the sport.

While you're pondering that, something else to think about, the Colts had scored 14 points within about 6 minutes in the 4th quarter. They clearly had the momentum although Agnew gave us a boost and Minshew helped us seal the deal by throwing picks. I liked the call, it's not inherently any less safe than any other play in football and shows that Pederson is willing to be aggressive to seal the deal.

I talked to my therapist about Press Taylor and his running it up the middle.  And he said, well why don't you take a break from complaining about Press Taylor?

Every day, I watch videos.  I see what Press Taylor is doing.  How he's not the same as Doug Pederson.  I have to post 4 or 5 times a day about this Press Taylor.  Bubble screens.  Runs up the middle.  Not using Ridley like he should.

I have one tiny office.  One small laptop from my actual job.  Watching this offense and this piss poor offensive production.  

Awe man, the drugs I have to inject into myself, just to get positive about it.  To just make myself hopeful about this offense.

Anything is possible. The fact that Carr had 50 pass attempts and they only scored 13 points yesterday is encouraging.

Just have to keep an eye out for Kamara and Hill. Those two guys are always wildcards and can flip the field within one broken tackle or blown assignment.

I could see a pair of turnovers coming our way though in this one. Hopefully one early to set the tone. If Beathard does get the start this would be the game where I would want to see more misdirection and gadget stuff.

Hmmmm, I agree the playcall for the situation yesterday was unnecessary but I strongly disagree with this idea that Lawrence should just take a sack. I saw some posts in the gameday thread complaining Lawrence was waiting for the deep ball when he should just checkdown.

No, no, no, these are the things that separate the greats from the other guys. Trying to make the big plays, trying to extend plays, scrambling and trying to gain an extra 3 yards rather than sliding, that's what I want Lawrence to do. Of course he needs to play smart and try to avoid getting blown up but the worse thing we could do is to try and get him playing safe.

Exactly. We took our foot off the gas that 4th Q as the game was won. The Colts got a couple garbage time scores and the playcall was to get a 1st down and run the clock out and Lawrence wanted to get it. Its unfortunate he took a knock but looks like we dodged a bullet. Everyone will learn from that.
