Trevor Lawrence: Franchise QB (TL Discussion, Merged Threads)

They are the same mistakes he’s made since his first day in the league. Can’t read the field before the play, dances in the pocket with bad footwork, over relies on his magic arm and the fastball when things get too hard. Heh. Throw a tantrum in the hopes that you distract everyone from the fact that you ignore the gaping sore that is TL’s monotonously predictable mistakes. We show less advertisements to registered users. For the Lawrence critics, what is your plan? Trade him? Draft his replacement?

Calvin needs to get open
Kirk needs to stop fumbling Fourtner needs to really step up The whole offense played horrible today, and the scheme was horrible out coaches Wasn’t Just Trevor

He’s made a few nice throws… sometimes… he’s also fumbled more than any other QB. He constantly gets sacked when he doesn’t need to be. His decision making is questionable. Honestly that's the only game. He has had moments. I think its just a combination of qb,line play and the playcalling. I want them to let him sling it all over just more aggressive is it possible with the current oline idk
No Fun

You can simultaneously criticize him and still hope he stays. If I were the QB coach, I'd start by just trying to eliminate the silly mistakes and improving the decision making in the pocket. I realize the OL sucks but he seems to be missing open guys way too much. Need to work on ball security. Reducing the small mistakes can add up.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

This^ I'll play spoiler for you it's gonna be burn it all down and spend the next decade being awful so they can feel good about how right they were. I think our weapons outside of ETN are overhyped Ridley defiantly is and our o line is a joke both of which are made even worse by bad play calling. Honestly you can't move on from Lawrence as he's flashed enough to think he can get there. It's the same thing that happened with Tua, and Goeff. Lawrence may not be Manning, Brees, or Brady but nothing says he can't be Big Bin, Stafford, Geoff. The one good side effect of this is we may not end up having to pay Lawrence and insane contract. We finished 9 - 8 last year. We're still 6 - 3 after getting completely beatdown today.
Just more overboard reactions. That's the nature of the game. One week you're a hero. The following week you're the villain. At the end of the day. The only column or stat that matters in this sport, or, really, most sports. It's just the win and loss column guys. When Lawrence is on the wrong side of why this team is losing, like we did for years with quarterbacks like Gabbert, Bortles & Minshew. I'll rip the kid. Other than that, I'll live. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky. No safety in the middle of the field corner outside leverage so he can just run a skinny post and completely get behind the defense ? Are we serious? And the TD what the heck have we never played a bunch set before ? Well I listed 3 where I feel he played at that same level but yes it's mostly moments at this point. The thing that lends to hope is those moments were sustained though a period of time not just a flash in the pan. Mahomes was the only Qb with more TDs then lawrence from week 9 on last year and Lawrence had less interceptions. He's not a do it all on his own guy he needs a good supporting cast which is fine but we clearly don't have it right now. Copium is a wonderful thing. If Lawrence isn’t a bust, and is a mid tier qb that’s even worse for us.

I was primarily referring to the dozen or so posters who are going to turn up just to whine about this performance and how bad he is that remain absent when he's playing well. I rest my case. This poster hasn’t shared in this thread at all until Trevor has a bad day. (11-12-2023, 05:15 PM)AlsJagsFan Wrote: I'm a Trevor fan but I don't think he's "great" right now. However I put most of the blame this week on the Oline. I mean I saw several plays the DE just ran right past our guy without being blocked. The kirk fumble fortner was just standing there rather than touching him down. This is about where I am. He’s good but has a some more edges to polish up and the line has to do better.

When you spend a year spamming the MB with 20 different critiques of the QB and also backpedal from all of them, you'll always have something to be "right" about. |
