Yep posted this just above. Go look at the routes run this year and you will see the void in the middle of the field. The offense isn't that different but the routes are focused too much on the sidelines and deep. They have got to stop this but they won't move away from it. Ridley can run routes in the middle and the rest of the WRs can play every position. No need to try and force a 1 deep threat WR when it isn't there and the offense doesn't need that to work.

Yup its predictable and Press doesn't seem to have the ability to draw up a good game plan.

The funny thing is Pederson feels Press should be a head coach but he would have had a better shot at it if Pederson would have kept playcalling. Lots of o coordinators who don't call plays have got head coaching jobs.

And they communicate throughout the game about adjustments. 
Today's lackluster plan and lack of effective adjustments is sadly on Pederson as much as anyone.

Trevor is highly overrated. the teal of doom has won games for us this season ,not the offense.  the defense has been the jags strengh for years ,even when the team is bad defense is strongest.   the other biggest problom today is san fran has 2 of the top 10 pass rushers on thier team  with bosa,and young.

If you're only going to settle for a superstar QB your gonna be waiting a long time. Mahomes, Burrow, are the only sure things every other QB has struggled with bad lines and inconsistent skill players. Heck even Mahomes has struggled this year due to their line a WRs.

I'm not apocalyptic like I was when we got toasted by the tin horns in week 3.  

After we got smoked by the tin horns, I realized this team isn't being coached properly by the offensive coaches.  There are people that insulted me for being so honest about our lack of offensive preperation based on the talent we have on the offense.

But you know what, I was right.

This team is a playoff team.  But we're not a S-bob.  We're not a super bowl or bust team.

Our QB who looked great last year under the HC is now regressing under a total dud OC.  And while our defense has really stepped up and looks like monsters, there's only so much they can do when you have an OC that is holding the offense back.

But it's fine.  You'll have people here that will bend over backwards to justifiy why our offense only scored 3 points is not the fault of the coaches on offense.

And I guess we'll all have to live with that type of gas lighting...  

We'll host a home playoff game.  That's good enough for me.  But don't ever tell me that I was wrong about the offensive coaching.   This coordinator that coaches the offense is out of his league, man.  He's trash.

You probably said the same thing last year and we went to the playoffs....won a game...and only lost by seven points in divisional game.... It's one game It's our last year's Detroit game.... Yeah it sucks Texans won today but how long can you keep pulling off wins ike that.... The bye week sucks I always say that Going into the bye week on a five game winning streak You're going to come out and lose.... Happens all the time....

Honestly, I'm still really proud of our Defense.  

Our D held up against an absolute onslaught of insanely lucky plays and insanely terrible support by our offense and special teams.

Our D is good.  Keep Oloukon, Keep Walker, Keep Allen (if possible), Cisco is $, we could lose Jenkins and replace him with Dewey. 

Did ya'll see how smart Dewey played all game???  Dewey is a safety that could be a probowler.  He's got at least 4 years left in him.

Now as for the offense?  Pshh.  It's hard to be sucsseful when you have a trash OC that is out of his element.  Either Pederson fires Taylor or he takes over the offense again.  Either way, it's obvioius that this isn't the same offense we saw last year.

Sign me up then.  Stroud plays well for a couple of games,  has no tape,  has a physical team around him,  and is just more of a beneficiary than a pro QB.  Lawrence is still laughably inconsistent at times,  but when he's on he can play well for several games.  I don't think TLaw has hit his ceiling either.  Still a young QB. Sooner or later Houston will lose a game they should win, and we'll be crowned for the division for a second consecutive year.

He can't do it alone, line has to block, WR have to catch the ball and then not put it on the ground in the red zone, and Bigby should never see the feild again. Yes Lawrence is part of the problem but again if you want a Mahomes, Burrow level QB buckle up cause it may not happen in your life time.

Dude, they added an X receiver after not having one before. (Zay ran lots of nontraditional routes in 2022 from the X spot instead of the sideline stuff most X's run because they were working with what they had available) 
So OF COURSE there are new routes involved for a new receiver with a different skillset - but Kirk and Engram are largely doing exactly what they did last year. 

It's fine to be frustrated that the X stuff with Ridley isn't working out to be very effective in most games. I am. And maybe they need to change how they are using him, I'd welcome that, but I don't think blaming the play caller for an X receiver running X receiver routes is a very sound critique. 
And those routes and plays were designed collectively by the offensive staff headed by Pederson. Press didn't draw up a new playbook. He's calling plays that they decided on together. He may not be calling situationally as well as Pederson did all the time, but outside of this game he's called plays good enough to win if they are executed.

It's why they play the game.  Did SF lose by 31 at home or am I missing something?  Their worst loss was by 14 at home to the Bengals.  They missed a GW FG during their 3 game losing skid,  and a 5 point loss at Minnesota where they looked awful the entire game.  I get it, they bounced back,  that's what the Jaguars need to do.  Good teams do that.

2 of their best players were out as well.

Nope.  I didn't.  I was all in on our offense last year.  Our offense was special last year.  What we are seeing this year?  This isn't the same offense....  

Dude, be honest.  If watch football, this offense has no resemblance to the offense we ran last year.  AT ALL.

Now that some moderators are finally realizing the truth, they are trying to lay the blame on Pederson.  When it was obvious from September that this offense wasn't Pederson's offense...  And so now I'm supposed to concede that it was only the bye week that was the problem when this offense has been fowl since September?????

Something else which gave me pause before before the game was an interview with Trevor who commented that he “hoped” the team was prepared to get back into their playing mode after the bye week. Not “we are ready” but “hoped”. A bad omen which turned out to be true.

Pump the brakes there.

While Stroud has played tremendously well the past few weeks, he's still in the infancy of his career. Like others mentioned, teams haven't accrued enough tape on his/Texans style to gameplan around.

Now if he shows up consistently, then great for him and the tinhorns franchise - but as for now, I'd hold off on crowning him. Unless you were quick to crown guys like Mac Jones/Tyson Bagent/Derek Anderson/Matt Leinhart/Tim Couch.
