Doug knows it's an Oline problem.

Anybody who actually watches the games and understands what they're watching knows it's an OLine problem. It's very obvious.

Press the Receivers, rush 4 and jump all the short routes. 49ers set the blue print on Sunday. Until the OL can prove they can actually block, there's no reason why teams should change up that approach.

DING DING DING

SFO gave everyone all the film they need. If your four can beat our six, you're gonna have an easy day of things.

Yeah this seems accurate. However, one has to hope we can find a way to counter. Why not put a TE back as a FB to block on obvious passing downs?

Not everyone is SF though, I agree the OL has had problems, but somehow our RB has found a way to make it work... He's elite. Our receivers have been up and down, at times last Sunday they were open though.. and TL missed them. At times they just ran/sat in coverage, low effort or bad coaching/scheme take your pick. The problem is the entire unit, there are times Trevor has time and botches the read, or rushed through progressions and misses a home run opportunity and bails on good pockets. No one on the offense should get a pass this year, from top down. From coaches to QB.

Pssst, ETN's numbers are down too; he's averaging less than 4 YPC this year with just a single 100 yard game. And yes, he is elite to even be producing that much with no blocking.

Psst. We know. Psst. It's all the offensive line's fault.

Psst. Reality. Nothing's going to change that until next year. So. Psst. The coaches and QB need to figure it out and elevate the piss poor play of that situation because that's psst.... the expectations from the national pundits and local pundits.

Nobody wants to hear excuses.

Again, it's not an excuse to correctly identify the actual problem instead of this "it's everyone's fault" nonsense. We've seen what they can be this year, good but not great with a fatal flaw that can't be fixed in season. Enjoy the ride, they might surprise you.

Here... take this lump of coal and turn it into a gold brick. No excuses!!!

You're being kind of silly at this point.

Doug Pederson isn't going to magically turn this [BLEEP] sandwich into filet mignon by dialing up our suggestions from the peanut gallery. Yes, I see things I'd try to do as well. I don't know if they'd make a difference or not. If a Super Bowl winning coach has been grappling with the problem for 9 games - he's probably thought of what I'm thinking of by now too.

He's been trying.  He didn't suddenly realize this line sucks during the SF game. He's been trying to mitigate the problem all season. Which is why our depth of target is so low.

Xs & Os are important - but they simply aren't going to be enough to fix the trenches talent gap against a top ten defense unless we play 100% mistake free football and get some really lucky bounces going our way.

You can call valid reasons "excuses" till you are blue in the face, and it won't change the amount of time it takes Javon Hargrave to knife his way between Scherff and Linder to interrupt Trevor's progression before he moves to his second read.

Just being realistic. It's a professional sport. There's a wide variety of teams with a wide variety of twists and turns and issues. The national and local media is not going to sympathize with their short comings.

Mike Tyson said it best "Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth". This team got punched in the mouth on Sunday.

What was the mantra last year? "So what? Now what?". Or, something was going wrong or off the rails, the response was "Good".

I had my expectations set in the offseason. They remain the same and very much attainable. Divisional winner with a slim to none chance of making a deep play off run.

I see talk on here of moving the linemen around to perhaps find a more productive spot. How feasible is that mid-season? I wonder if that scenario is even explored during practice.

IMO, that was what happened with Little. Put the five best guys on field etc. Look what happened.

Part of O-line sucess is also that the guys work wel together. Our guys don't.

Dude is probably so far off from his playing weight you or I would be better options. Most linemen clean up/get in great shape when they aren't required to keep the weight on while in the NFL. Quick look at his Instagram and he looks fantastically slimmed down. It wouldn't work.

They wouldn't have traded for Cleveland if they didn't feel like they had a feasible opportunity to improve somewhere along the interior.

He was rated highly and well above anybody in our current line up. I would expect a change or two at some point.

Especially if they get beat by the tacks early and often at the line.

My expectation is to ease Ezra in depending on the injury. Harrison will continue to start and Little will be doing spot duty.
Would be interesting to see some jumbo

I think NYC misspoke up there and meant Fortner.

We can't run jumbo. Doesn't matter if you have a line-up change with your base five or actually add bodies to help push the interior with a pair of TE's and a lead blocker.

Haven't you heard?

Psst. It is what it is. We're sticking to shotgun on 3rd and inches. We suck.

It continues to amaze me that you think our fantastic Super Bowl winning coach doesn't know what he's doing.
