Trevor Lawrence: Franchise QB (TL Discussion, Merged Threads)

Trevor has much better talent at WR than Mahomes. His O-line (KC) is better but not much better.

Also, implying Mahomes would not do better here than Trevor it's pretty much comparing them and saying they have a similar level. They don't.

Homie was getting crushed worse than our hopes and dreams for this season.

Well, Mahomes is the best QB in the game. It’s no shame to not be equivalent. There is a long way between this and the people calling to cut Trevor. I think Trevor has really tried his best to carry us this year. His effort has been quite heroic. However, he’s clearly playing banged up at this point.

Theres no need to cut Trevor, however if he ends the season without playing any better than he has and then demands an extension anywhere near the top 5 QBs in the league we'd be absolutely foolish to pay him.

However, if we can get him to extend on a more team friendly deal since he's been horrible this year that'd be good.

Give him 10 years $550m right now.

No one seems to want to tell us what they think the Jags record would be if Mahomes was their QB.  Would the Jags currently be 12-3/11-4 with PM15?   Keep in mind that KC is currently 9-6 with Mahomes.

I would give him six years for $225M with $100M guaranteed. That's it. I also think it's fair because it's within the same range as Josh Allen received with the Bills in 2021 and he's played just like Josh Allen minus the touchdowns since he's been here.

This would put him at the 11th highest paid salary at his position and he's played like a QB around that range. Would entertain a security incentive in the contract. Give me a year with less than ten turnovers and I'll kick you some more bonus money.

Trevor might have better WR talent (when they're all actually on the field, which hasn't been often this season), but Mahomes has the best TE in the game. Who's arguably the best TE to ever play.

Mahomes also has a far better OL (Jags is easily the worst OL in the League) and a far better running game. He also has a better Defense than Trevor has.

Just watching tonights game. It's 5 to 3. Turnovers. Running the ball. Tough defense. Good running lanes and pass protection.

Yet. I am supposed to crucify Lawrence for trying to make chicken salad out of chicken [BLEEP] out there.

He could probably find somewhere else to play for that kind of money that won't get him beat up every week.  That's the dilemma for the Jags if they don't get the line fixed.

Should of seen the INT Purdy threw in the endzone earlier. Certain people around here would of had a brain aneurysm if that was Trevor.

And Purdy, next league MVP (lol), playing for the all-Madden team has already tossed two picks.

Exactly. They can't fix the line though if they're having to give him six years for $300M.

That's the biggest dilemma.

They can fix the line and keep Trevor no problem. They just can't fix the line with Baalke drafting.

Tons of teams have good or great offensive lines without spending huge in free agency to get them.

And there's his 3rd INT lololololololol.

I look forward to hearing about how much better he is than Trevor for the next 8 months.

Heh. TL sucks so bad that his fanboys are drinking the schadenfreude of Mr Irrelevant, the last guy picked in a draft, putting together an MVP season for SFO but having a bad game. If TL put half the season together than Purdy has then the vibe around him would be completely different.

49ers wouldn't have lost a single game in the past 3 years if Lawrence was their QB.

There is no arguable. He's not the best TE ever. Gronk is.

No team is paying Trevor 55million+ per year right now.

Purdy, even with these interceptions, still has 31 total TDs and 12 total turnovers this year.
