Also, Walker is now hitting his stride and finding himself as a pass rusher nearing double digit sacks in year two. This is a prime opportunity to solidify your edge rushing situation for years to come.

If you have to release Cam Robinson and let Calvin Ridley walk in the off season to get it done? You get it done. This team can ill afford to let anybody worth a damn go. Allen and Walker as a tandem are leading the AFC South in pressures. You know what would make them even better going into 2024 later on this year?

A healthy Hamilton, a healthy Smoot and some new rookies and new blood in the middle. I am at that point on my end. I think the first four to five draft picks have to be dedicated towards bolstering the offensive and defensive lines and I think you try and find another receiver or two to start or develop going into training camp.

The Jags [BLEEP] around and found out by not paying Allen last year. I've been pounding the table for them to re-sign him for the last two years and they didn't. Now they have to pony up a top dollar deal because of it.

I think it'll be north of that with more years on the deal to soften the blow. Shooting for a six year deal at his age, which is probably the safest bet, and the deal would go up to $27M.

I wouldn't pay him that guaranteed though. I would pay him 2 years and the rest has to be earned through play. Maybe guarantee some if it for injury with a signing bonus but need an out after 2 years if he doesn't keep it up.

While his play is great at times, he doesn't affect the game with results enough for a top 5 guaranteed deal.

I see that many folks don't understand the economics of the NFL. Free Agents get paid. Really, really good free agents at premium positions get paid a lot. Quarterbacks get paid the most. Every year the amounts these players get will be more than the players got the previous year. If a team doesn't want to pay their really, really good premium free agent or quarterback what he wants then another team certainly will.
