Why can we see it but the coach can't? I just don't get it.
Don't know. Been a Bulldogs fan my whole life. Said earlier on that him being inside would more than likely bode well for the defense.

Virtually more than 75% of his highlight reel coming out of college is from him working the inside.

Isn't it that he's a bit lighter than most every down NFL DTs?  In obvious passing situations, sure scoot him inside.  He contains the edge well though, so not sure you want to give that up for significant portions of the game.

I think he might have a few more sacks already this year from the outside if Allen weren't here.  I seem to recall on a few of Allen's sacks, Walker was just a split second behind him and had a chance to get there as well.  This narrative that he's not a good edge rusher or won't be is a bit overblown in my opinion. But, yeah, mix it up sometimes with him lining up all over. I definitely have noticed more in recent games he isn't always on the same side of the field like he seemed to be earlier in the year.

Travon Walker has finally settled into some sort of groove at OLB and that's great. It took a little while but those paying attention knew that it would.

Now that he's done that, the staff is comfortable moving him around more than they were while he was learning his primary role.

He is now thriving in those opportunities as well.

Nothing about this timeline is bad or inappropriate in my eyes.

It reflects this staff's philosophy and protocol for developing a raw prospect methodically.

I have no problems with that.

Shipley thinks it’s because the Jags lack depth at edge rusher.

They can have RRH and Hamilton rush inside but do we really want more Klavon on the outside?

This is exactly why so many of us wanted another pure outside pass rusher. Much easier to move Travon inside.

Either way, Travon is projecting very well for the future. Lots of comps to Rashan Gary and I’m here for it.

Spent a 5 on a healthy scratch. Could've had Leonard Floyd but they thought Buffalo needed him.more I guess.

Edge guys that can get 10 sacks are hard to find. It’s hard to say Walker isn’t a good edge rusher at this point. If he played the whole season like he has the past month he’d be pretty close to
41’s total. He’d be at 10 already (and past it) had Purdy not go for the intentional grounding on the way down.

Lot of folks talk about his get off on the edge, but his get off on the interior shows he can do it. As raw as he was coming out, I would expect another year 2 jump in year 3. As the game slows down even more, you’ll see that explosion off the edge.

One thing I notice though is he doesn’t ever barely win for a pressure. He’s either blocked, or he absolutely destroys the block to the point it’s sack/hold/prayer for the offense.

I've always thought that an Intentional Grounding penalty should count as a sack. It's a shame that the defender makes a play and doesn't get any kind of credit for it.

Same with defensive PI.  QB and Receiver get no credit.  At the very least, they should be tracking it more closely on stat web sites like profootballreference.  Some receivers draw a lot of PI penalties.  Would be interesting to see player comparisons including that line.

Lots of folks here want to hang Ridley out to dry but he's drawn the most PI penalties in the NFL this year.

I’m sure he’s not the only one, but he’s had intentional blatant penalties kill a few sacks.

He had 2 against KC he would’ve killed Mahomes but Jawaan just bear hugged him knowing it’d pull the flag.

what does the narrative look like if he had those 3 and was walking with 12?

I love the way Travon has improved in the 2nd half of thos season. The sky is the limit for Walker and hopefully he dominates this weekend to help seal us a playoff spot

I would absolutely love if we could sure up the OL in free agency and then draft a really good interior pass rusher in the draft in round 1/2.

I imagine tho our first rounder will likely be a guard or we trade back and take a center.

One of the bright spots form this year. Hopefully we get allen extended and have a formidable pair of edge rushers for.the next 3 years at least.

Walker did great this year.

I'm happy we have him instead of Hutchinson.  Hutchinson would have been a complete bust with this trash coaching staff.  Walker has the physical abillities to overcome Pederson's laissez faire coaching philosophy.

Allen makes splash plays, but there are times I forget Allen is even on the field.  That's never the case with Walker.

Walker has gotten better with almost every month he's been in the league.  His Rookie year was pretty up and down, and he made some boneheaded plays early.  But he's night and day different now.  We still have 2 season with him under his rookie contract.  I think next year he's gonna be a beast.

I'm happy to say that I was wrong about my assessment of Walker this year.

He definitely progressed and I'm glad he and Allen had great seasons.

Wasted a decent pass-rushing duo on a piss-poor defensive line and secondary. Shame.
