Sometimes QBs make mistakes in their read and end up not succeeding, but I'm not sure Trevor has often has the time to go through his reads this year and find the open guy.

Really, it's pretty miraculous the jaguars even got to 8-3. Our offensive line is BAD. I mean real bad, not just the kind of hyperbole fans sometimes spout because the line is average. The line was bad.

The defense has their moments against bad QBs of looking decent, and even played well against good QBs a few times, but the team is mostly looking up at average as far as roster goes, but people expect a quarterback with a Rasputin list of injuries to carry a team.

It didn't happen, if the Jaguars want to hold off on extending him that's their choice, but it probably won't help anything.

If they don't replace Baalke and improve the roster then he can just do what Lamar did and the team can eventually lose him, or they can look to extend the best part of the roster right now and focus on fixing everything else with at least stability at QB.

This is because of the coaching!!!  They are teaching Lawrence to throw to his first read.  It's been obvious since September!!!

You guys, it's not that hard to see what's happening.  The coaching staff is training Lawrence to play the way he does.  It's been 18 weeks.  It's been obvious for the last 12 week, at least.

I kept saying how bad the play calling was.  I kept saying how Trevor seems to be too anxious with his first read.  This entire year was a disaster.  And the coaching staff absolutely has to be held to account.  We can't just dump Trevor.  Plus, he's too good to just dump.  But this coaching staff, man...  They suck.  They regressed every position on offense.  And almost every position on defense.

This was almost the exact same team as last year.  And yet we looked completely different this year compared to last.  So what changed???  The coaches changed.  They stopped coaching, or they let the OC handle things.  And they didn't inspire the team.  This is not a coaching staff that should be able to run it back.  They suck.

Or you know, the first time I spoke about Trevor Lawrence and the reason this board hates me was pointing out how he dosen't progress through his reads well and throws high-inaccurate passes.

This was at Clemson, Doug wasn't there and neither was Urban.

Everyone's gotta be better. I thought the 3rd down goal line call was awful. Lawrence needs consistency maybe go work with Manning or something idk.

Freaking dumb Panthers took Young and let the Texans draft Stroud.

Pederson presser said Trevor made the call on the sneak, was not the play that was called.

Trevor needs lots of improving. He’s not elite, he never was - but he’s young and is talented.

The hall sails on him too much and his accuracy isn’t great.

He’s still miles better than what we’ve had in the past. The offensive and defensive line need a major upgrade. I think then we could argue that we will be in a better situation.

Tells be he doesn't trust the coaches with the season on the line. That or it's hero ball. The play worked every other time they did it this year.

They were too far to try that qb one handed leap. I said it before they even did it. Third down call was dumb, 4th down call was dumb…

But I’m mostly upset about the last drive. 2nd and 2 with 2:00 to go. And three straight incompletions. Especially the third and 4th down. He wasn’t hit, he wasn’t in a crazy rush, he just decided he was throwing left and missed both. Just head scratching for sure.

How many games this season has Trevor come out in his post game and said he didn’t play his best. Feels like over half of them (including after some of the early wins when the defence kept bailing the offence out)

8 out of 17….. because he is the kinda QB to take the blame whether it’s his fault or not. He doesn’t throw his teammates under the bus.

I think everyone would agree he hasn't been a top 5 qb. But he is somewhere between 5-15 and in my mind somewhere closer to 10. Yes there are things he needs to improve on (turnovers, accuracy at times, ability to feel pressure better, etc...). However finding a guy who is better isn't going to be easy. For crying out loud we spent the last 15 years trying to find someone better than Garrard of all QBs. Dump Lawrence after next season and we could easily go another 15 years in the basement. He may never become the guy who can carry an average team with a terrible oline. But I do think he can carry a good enough supporting cast to a deep playoff run. Fix the interior oline and I think the offense takes off.

If possible I'd try to do a deal this offseason. Obviously it has to be in line with how good he has been. He doesn't deserve burrow level contract.

He doesn't deserve Josh Allen contract either. He honestly doesn't even deserve $35+ per year atm.

The ball sails mostly when his mechanics are not near perfect, and that requires a clean pocket especially up the middle.

It is something that can worked around if the coaches/FO didn't underestimate how much he needs that.

I'd rather lug around Lawrence for 4 years on good dollar then not give him money and he goes to titans or some other team and tears us up.

Idc if it's year 4, we were still fighting for playoffs right down to the last game ...at least it made things fun..instead of us being in draft talks in week 10

Exactly he takes blame.
Now I see a lot on twitter saying he doesn't care there is no fire or anger. It's whatever. Big decisions this offseason.

No one cares that much anymore. You most likely have players playing that don't really like football but make lots of money, so they do that instead of having a job or being poor. Gone are the days of players caring if the team wins or not. You would expect some stuff leaking in the media if anyone on the team cared but nothing coming from the players.

It's one of the reasons I think Doug lost the team. If the players were still invested, someone would have stepped up as a leader, something would have leaked about bad coaching, etc. Every answer was we just have to be better and coaches always blaming player execution.
