What you will see from reporters close to team is them being cryptic with stuff like this. You can't openly leak info because it could out your source and also get you restricted if the right people are mad.

This has happened in the past where the local reporters and radio hosts will drop a hint but not go into any details. Then a national person will pick it up and that enables them to talk about it without burning bridges with the team.

I think the issue in SF was that both Baalke and Harbaugh are just weird dudes. Like, sociopathically weird dudes. That deal about Pederson steering Trent during camp with a "Smile to the fans and wave, Trent" really shows the difference between the two men IMO.

I think that some of our offense problems are Press=Doug. He runs Dougs playbook, maybe Doug is better at gametime decisions but it is still his plays. How drastic of a change would firing Press be?

You'd still have to have an OC, even if only in title. It puts ALL of the midweek study, planning, and prep on Doug's shoulders unless he again lets the OC take the reins. It takes Doug out of the action during defensive plays if he has to pay more attention to coaching up the offensive guys or talking in-game adjustments. That part might be feasible if the DC is at the level of assistant HC, but I highly doubt he'd do that with a fresh hire.

Like I said here and other threads - our under center throws this year (most of which were play action) went for 13.3 yards per attempt. Lots of vertical passes in those attempts. 

That is really good. 

We just weren't able to do it enough because of the line and QB injuries.
If I see it - the staff does too. 
It will ramp up. 

The middle of the field talk is mostly overblown garbage narrative BTW
7 or 8 of Lawrence's passing charts show several completions and attempts there. 

The factors keeping them lower in other games are multiple and include (but not limited to) Trevor loving to look toward the hero routes when the middle routes are secondary/shorter + defensive schemes and how Pederson game plans against them.

What tells me that the Scheme is good is that last year we ended up in the top 10, and this year, even with the worst Oline in the league we ended up in 13th. If the scheme was not playing for Trevor  strengths there is no way that we ended up that high in offense rankings. What other offense in the league that don't have a QB that fit the Scheme is higher than us ?

The tacks just snagged our passing game coordinator to be their offensive coordinator up there. That's pretty interesting. Two years in a row now we've lost a passing game coordinator to a divisional rival for essentially a promotion.
