Can you post some examples of it being 100% a team official burner account?  I scrolled back pretty far and didn't see anything that agrees with that statement and got tired of scrolling.

Misstep by Baalke during the press conference.  Specifically the "far away" from a contract remark.  All he had to say is "We have not started negotiations yet, but we have a time table for that coming up soon. Next question."

Perhaps they favor just having him prove it again by playing on the tag this year.  They have the leverage by being able to tag him again next year.  Cisco, Little and Campbell are set to hit free agency next year and none of them would get the tag over Allen at this point.  Obviously they risk pissing him off and not wanting to sign here, but facing two years on the tag might make him sign a more team friendly deal.

I think maybe you're overreacting a bit.  Sure, we finished 9-8, but I don't see the "mess" that you see.  We need to get bigger and stronger on the line of scrimmage, for sure, but this isn't a bottom-of-the-barrel team.  

Any team that has any weakness, you can say the GM "created that weakness."  And almost every team has weaknesses.

During the offseason, the Jags had a couple very obvious places that needed upgrading.

1. Pass rush. Baalke did nothing but get Smoot coming off an Achilles tear. Brilliant

2. Interior Oline problems. The fix? Making Little (a clear LT) the guard. Another brilliant move!

Need OLine help? Nope. Let’s get more off ball linebackers and backup RBs!

They may know what they need to fix but I don’t think Baalke is a good talent evaluator who can actually fix it.

Again. For me, this boils down to Trevor. I don’t think Baalke can bring in enough talent to help the 24 year old QB reach his full potential.

Obviously these last 2 seasons have been better than in years past but I want them to continually improve. Like the Lions. They continued to improve their roster and mainly, they have continued to improve their Oline.

 Gentlemen we have not had 2 winning seasons in a row since 2000. This was accomplished while dealing with higher than average injuries and playing a first place schedule. We are a best 5-11 playing a first place schedule the last 23 years. If you listened to what the Jags said before the draft you would know it was for depth.  They did need to draft a starter with their first pick and chose well. (Harrison)  That was the plan.  No one at that time could foresee a LT being suspended for 6 games and  a practice against the Lions that left our o-line beat up (sent 1 to IR) before the season even began. Our o-line coach most definitely was handed the poopy end of the stick as the season began. The Keystone Cops then promptly suited up and played that first game against the Texans.  I don't solely blame Bigsby for that scoop TD. There were 10 other players standing around him that had the same brain fart.  They are just as culpable.

Do I like Baalkie? I have to say because I have never met the guy there is no basis for me to either like or dislike.  Do I like his choices? Well, since I have no way to know what their intent is, evaluations are or who said what in draft meetings there once again there is no basis for that.  I am neutral on him.  I can say in my opinion he appears to be an upgrade to Dave Caldwell, Gene Smith and James Harris.  I find it humorous that some will disagree with him no matter what he says, even if is is something they were promoting previously.  (no i'll not show examples...you do your own work)

What I got from the press conference and look forward to.

“Your quarterback has a throwing shoulder injury, a knee injury, an ankle injury and a concussion all in one year? That’s alarming,” Baalke said Thursday. “We got to work to improve that. There’s a lot of things that contribute to that. But we do have to do a better job there.”

Anything short of making the play off's in 2024 should be taken seriously and treated as such.

Some fans are quick to forget how awful this team can be when it wants to be.  During the bottom feeder days,  nothing to look forward to,  none of the players making any impactful plays,  routine embarrassment...  I'll take a competitive team with strengths and weaknesses over the basement dwelling any day.  Games were just as painful,  but for a different reason.

Wallowing in moral victories is for losers. Save that nonsense for the gym when you almost hit a new PR or your child or grandchild when they almost didn't eat [BLEEP] riding their bike without training wheels. Where it's more plausible and probable that you or them can improve that chance of success on a daily basis.

It takes a year to get back into a season and players come and go. Flashes in the pan come and go. Injuries come up all the time. When you're this close? You strike while the iron is hot. Especially in this sport. The odds are stacked against you.

Of course I remember the gutter days. I grew up on them. I also grew up in a family that had limited opportunities and some of them pissed them away by thinking they would get another chance at it.

The day that never comes. So, again, cool if you want to wallow in moral victories, but, winners push for success and they drive themselves insane to maintain it by chasing it.

We'll see what happens, but, anything short of the play offs seems like yet another step backwards given the amount of time and resources this team has now had.

I agree that yes, we are in a better spot then years past, but 2024 should at the very least be a playoff berth. Anything less, at the very least, Baalke has to go.
