If he gets the nod? Just like the dog that he is. He needs to be on a short leash. I don't trust him. It's now year four and the guy has yet to start a full 17 game season nor find himself a starting job.

Nope. Have always been Caldrac. A lot of us probably rehashing Olinematter's material though. As his display name would indicate. He was a big advocate for building up the offensive line. Think he's a resident Cinci native and now follows the Bengals if I am not mistaken.

LT - Cam Robinson (After a restructured contract)
LG - Cooper Beebe - RD2
C - Lloyd Cushenberry (From FA leaving DEN)
RG - Robert Hunt (From FA, leaving MIA)
RT - Anton Harrison

I still think Baalke drafts another offensive lineman in RD1 or at least another guy in RD3. Possibly another tackle like Tyler Guyton out of Oklahoma or Jordan Morgan out of Arizona if he manages to trade down and move some things around like he did last year for Harrison.

Wouldn't mind seeing a deal where he flips 17 for 25 with Green Bay and pockets maybe Green Bay's 2nd RD pick in the process while maybe just swapping their 3rd RD picks around to make the value a little bit better in our favor.

You can't restructure Cam, he's only got next year left. If we sign an extension he will be very expensive for average talent. Beebe is tracking in the 140s right now on big boards, so a 2 is very high for him at the moment. I like Cush and Hunt, but both will be pricey.

Beebe and Guyton will more than likely rise quickly once the combine gets rolling. Especially Guyton. 

I have a lot of thoughts on the LT position but it's just thoughts at the end of the day. It's really a no win situation. You're either stuck trying to work things out with Robinson, taking yet another chance on Little with limited experience and durability concerns, trying to find the right rookie or free agent that's not going to be overly pricey (Maybe Tyron Smith, maybe Onwenu) or getting a good RT at 17 with flipping Harrison over to LT. 

I don't think they can realistically approach and tackle all of the following needs in one off season:

Upgrade at LT
Upgrade at LG
Upgrade at C
Upgrade at RG

The biggest need is C, probably followed by LG. RG could be wide open if they opt to cut Scherff to save money. I don't know. Just a ton of holes to backfill in short order.

Agreed. It was Hutchinson or Walker for me there. I don't think any of the top offensive lineman prospects from that class have made that big of a name for themselves the way the defenders have.

That 2022 1st RD in general has churned out some great defensive talent. Virtually every other player in that class in RD1 is an impact player already.

Well, he did have a few good evaluations on O-linemen.  He was really upset we took Fortner. That started his exit I believe.  My opinion on our center is he has shown us what he is and we should believe him.  I do not care how strong he gets, playing with a high pad level will get him pushed back on his backside as we have seen.

Beginning to look at Drake Nugent from Michigan as it has the word nasty in his description... He is a bit light though

The O line? probably not. But our teams future if we rely on 3 draft picks to fix the line and it falls through could be tragically bad. Would take away the oppurtunity to draft talented players at other positions of need and it's unlikely we hit on all 3. When you need as many new starters on the OL as I suspect we will, free agency has to be the route here, at least for 1 or 2 of them.

Nobody else said it, so I will:  Caldrac is NOTHING like TMD.

A few other posters are, but not him.  There are plenty of self-righteous posters, myopic posters, answer-demanding exclamation point-using all caps posters, hyperfocused insult-slinging posters, and, to be fair, well informed and heavily invested Jag fan posters.  The only trait Caldrac shares with TMD is the last one.  TMD was unique in combining the others into a particularly annoying style.

Who's the can't miss LT in the 2024 draft?

I don't think there will be one at 17 when we pick.  I don't even think there will be one of good value at 17 when it's our pick

The can't miss LT this year is Joe Alt from Notre Dame.  He will go top 10.

There are 2 more tackles that will go top 20:  Penn State's Olumuyiwa Fashanu, and Alabama's JC Latham.  Some also like Oregon's Taliese Fuaga, others like Washington's Troy Fautanu.  From what I've read, Alt and Fashanu will be gone by the time we draft, but you can never tell.  Josh Allen fell into our laps in 2019 and he wasn't supposed to drop past 5.  So 1 of the 3 of Latham, Fautanu, and Fuaga will still be there at 17.  Are any of them worth the pick?  Should we trade up for Alt or Fashanu?  

Alt might not be Boselli/Ogden.  He also might be.  He's 20 years old, 6'8", 315 pounds, smart as hell and John Alt's kid.  There's a bunch of tape on him, and it's almost all good.  To me, that's can't miss.  If he falls past 10, we gotta trade up and get him.

The next 40 days will be interesting as I am sure our guys will be looking to see who the other teams sign or tag before free agency begins. March 11 is the legal tamper date and the 13th begins free agency. This also applies to other areas that are targeted for improvement. Depending on that it will establish our draft strategy and how many resources we will need to expend in the draft on the O-line. My guess is 2 of our first 4 picks this year.

I highly doubt that either team win primarily due to the contribution of either former Jag. Gabby's got a few rings, IIRC, and I think Chenne did, too. Was there much 'melt' after they got theirs? I did some things in college that affected my memory, maybe you can help.
