The shame is odds are he was told before today. Add to that they are doing him a solid releasing him now while all the other teams have not spent their improvement money. Only the Jags would not wait 24 to 48 hours....

The media team has no idea what the front office is doing ahead of time.

Yes, blame the social media team for a (likely) scheduled post and then reporting team news.

Maybe we should blame the Fatukasi parents for having a kid right around the beginning of the league year, this poor guy is probably gonna deal with this another time or two in his career. Somehow I think having a bank account with multiples of commas in it would make me just fine with an ill-timed sequence of insignificant posts to a dying social media platform. The humanity.

But if I cannot make fun of tarps or relocation rumors, what possibly could I post about them miserable Duval baguars?

Twitter stock has lost 71% of its value since it was sold to its current owner

META has done nothing but gain value in that same time

Twitter’s stock was inflated. It was losing $4M a day before the current owner purchased it and cut thousands of unnecessary workers. Its stock today more accurately reflects the true value of the company.

Nah

Their ad revenue is down by 59%

It's a crap product compared to its former self and the ad dollars walking away reflect that

Yes, we know all about why their ad revenue is down, don’t we?

The company was already in ruin. How does a company stay afloat burning through $4M a day?

We need to get younger and better on the interior DL, I presume this is to help remedy our problem. All of our defensive linemen not named Josh Allen suck plain and simple. How you gonna preach stopping the run and do well all year then just get embarrassed at the most important part? No hard feelings.

We have other more appropriate forums to discuss this topic. Please move it to one of those. This thread is about how the GM of this team created another example of how he doesn't understand emotional intelligence. It's not that big of a deal, but once again the guy seems to step on his own junk doing pretty easy things. It's not that hard to release the guy any of the other days before yesterday, but this makes it look like Baalke isn't into the details of relating to the team. It's a business, but being an [BLEEP] about it is a choice.

No, this is about Foley not about Foye. I see how that could confuse you, but this is the oft-injured lineman not the elite linebacker.

The Fatukasi release came down to a player getting paid to fill a role (stuff the run in the middle) and declining in performance at that role year over year.

They couldn't justify paying him what he's making to do that as he just gets worse at it. In Fatukasi's penultimate year with the Jets before they changed scheme he was one of the best interior run defenders in the league. He showed that in several games in 2022 but declined in 2023 and our run defense declined along with him.

Clearly they see opportunity in this offseason FA crop and draft class to upgrade the position or they wouldn't be doing this.

Note: Josh Allen is not a lineman. If we consider him a lineman then Travon Walker is as well, and he does not suck. Neither does Smoot who played well again after his injury. Neither is Hamilton, but he had a debilitating illness that cost him the season. We need A defensive tackle who can push the pocket and A defensive tackle who can eat double teams and stop the run. Both can be had this offseason between free agency and the draft.

It seems like we have a lot of needs this offseason.   Corner, DT, C, OG, WR.  We need first-rate talent at all of those positions.  It seems unlikely we will get all of those filled in one offseason.   That's why I would make it a 2-year rebuild, with emphasis on fixing OL this offseason.
