So they get to the pick and say who should we pick? No one has strong feelings so the guy who has personal relationships with the players pushes them. Every team has people fall for certain players and push them hard. The good teams have things in place to make sure it doesn't happen as much. The Jags GM side is already a mess, Baalke has shown he falls for players, so why would you doubt that this could happen? This is indeed a good/great draft from them if you're only going by pre draft projections. Won't know anything until the regular seasons starts though. They filled a lot of needs. I think the Jags did as well BTW.

Brandon Scherff is no longer that dude. Next season I want him gone. (04-27-2024, 01:57 PM)HardcoreMoJagFan Wrote:Over/under on the Jags selecting a LSU walk-on in the 7th? A lot of talk about extra pass rush help. What about a Will LB? Somebody mentioned earlier Jeremiah Trotter. I know he is smallish at only 6' but he was a pretty good pass rusher no?
I like Matt Lee at Center. Could be there in RD6.
Since we're on the LSU train. Omar Speights at LB is a name to watch. EDGE wise it's Nelson Ceasar out of Houston. Mahogany still on the clock but obviously his pre draft non gm ranks are off as no one wants him compared to his pre draft ranking.

I expect to see Myles Cole out of Texas Tech to be drafted. He fits the Baalke's physical profile as an edge rusher. Long arms.

Back up edge rush is a secondary need. They guys left in the draft after Isaac got drafted aren't better than Gipson or Abdullah that we already have. We're also changing schemes and i believe were going to run 425 as our base set which means that beef on the line is priority over lightweight pass rushers. I would've rather gotten a true defensive end like Oboigbe than an stand up edge like Muhammed Kamara. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

Dunno, just going off remaining player rankings but we DO need a better back up to Morse
