Did anyone see this House Oversight Committee meeting?
It was MTG's turn to talk, the Dems felt she was off topic but they are supposed to listen and respect her time regardless. Rep Crockett interrupted her, and instead of saying something like, "it's my turn" MTG decides to comment on Crockett's fake eyelashes. AOC then decides to step in and demand that those words be struck, and they are, but things continue because AOC wants a sincere apology and MTG is refusing to offer any apology.

These are obviously people whose minds are so twisted around their own sense of self righteousness that they can't see straight. Or maybe AOC was just looking for any excuse to prolong and delay the meeting.

Crockett shouldn't have interrupted MTG. No one demanded a "sincere apology" for that, why not?

MTG shouldn't have commented on anyone's appearance, especially not a Black woman.

But AOC shouldn't have demanded any immediate apology.
Anyone who's been married or raised kids knows it takes a long time for the emotional air to clear and for people to be ready to give and receive sincere apologies when sincere apologies are called for. You can't just demand one on the spot. All anyone should have expected MTG to say at the time was "Ok, I won't say anything like that again for the rest of the meeting".

With none of them willing to do what they should do, the situation kept spiralling down with more personal insults.

I guess a certain type of person enjoys politics becoming a catty soap opera or pro wrestling sideshow. Not me, though.

I'm surprised the chair didn't do more to get them to shut up.

If anyone is paying attention, the Redditors are pumping Gamestop stock again. I got in yesterday at $26 and it's currently at $71 in the 24 hour. Looks like the little guys are going to fleece the big boys again.

Just to update, I sold at $68 yesterday morning. I made $5k on the day, told my wife I just paid for our summer vacation. Was fun while it lasted.

Good on you for taking the gamble and winning.  It's back down to $22.21.

Just my opinion... these kinds of trades are pretty much just a gamble.  I wouldn't really call it "investing".  I would rather put the money into a quality stock or ETF for a longer term.  I still get the same result, it just takes a bit longer.
