I think the hard left Hamas-is-OK people were hopeful that other tactics would work. They were hopeful that Biden would press for a ceasefire. Then they thought the best way to influence Biden was by campaigning for "uncommitted" votes in the Democratic primary. That didn't work. Their sudden surge into campus protests is kind of a last gasp desperation move for a group that has little credibility with any Americans. The only thing the media cares about is keeping your attention so you keep subscribing or keep watching ads. And these left wingers that many assume conspire together, don't. There are many different opposing left wing agendas.
