GOP would be smart to move their convention up a week.

"Michael Cohen admitted to lying under oath and stealing from Trump: Not Guilty

Stormy Daniels admitted to sending threatening text literally extorting Trump: Not Guilty

Judge Merchan donated to Trump’s rival and presided over the case: Not guilty

Merchans daughter receives hundreds of thousands from democrats: Not guilty

Donald Trump filed payments to a lawyer as payments to a lawyer: Guilty!

What in the hell has happened to our country?"

Cohen went to jail and I don't recall the others every being charged.   That's pretty much like saying someone is found not guilty of driving 75 MPH in a 60 MPH zone.  One has to be charged with a crime to obtain a verdict.

People voting for Trump weren't going to sit home.....

I can only assume most of those supporting Nikki (who would have crushed Biden in a General Election) are only more convinced their support of Nikki is further justified.

I thought about buying DJT stock earlier today but held off since it already went up significantly this year.   It's down right now but may boom like GME at the 9:30am mark when the general public has access to the market.

It's not going to make a damn bit of difference in the election.

I'd like it if we could change the thread title to something more accurate. Like GUILTY!!!

Yes it will. DJT just captured even more of the African American vote on top of a base that wasn't going anywhere regardless.  You guys are gonna need a plan B, and we all know what that entails.

I know, right?
The guy gets a judge he appointed in Florida that will delay his trial for any and every reason his lawyers dream up, then he gets a judge in DC that he didn't appoint who nonetheless wants to wait on an SC decision that was never going to come on time, by the way he appointed three of the SC justices that are slow-walking that case, but really, it's this one case, where he didn't get to appoint any of the judges involved, it's that one case that's weaponization.  Not the others.  Ignore the others.  Forget I mentioned that.

Our Gov chimes in..

https://twitter.com/GovRonDeSantis/statu...5v4xQ&s=19

"Today’s verdict represents the culmination of a legal process that has been bent to the political will of the actors involved: a leftist prosecutor, a partisan judge and a jury reflective of one of the most liberal enclaves in America—all in an effort to “get” Donald Trump.

That this case—involving alleged misdemeanor business records violations from nearly a decade ago—was even brought is a testament to the political debasement of the justice system in places like New York City. This is especially true considering this same district attorney routinely excuses criminal conduct in a way that has endangered law-abiding citizens in his jurisdiction.

It is often said that no one is above the law, but it is also true that no one is below the law. If the defendant were not Donald Trump, this case would never have been brought, the judge would have never issued similar rulings, and the jury would have never returned a guilty verdict.

In America, the rule of law should be applied in a dispassionate, even-handed manner, not become captive to the political agenda of some kangaroo court."

RFK comments.. And I agree with him.

The Democratic Party's strategy is to beat President Trump in the courtroom rather than the ballot box. This will backfire in November. Even worse, it is profoundly undemocratic.

America deserves a President who can win at the ballot box without compromising our government’s separation of powers or weaponizing the courts. You can’t save democracy by destroying it first.

The Democrats are afraid they will lose in the voting booth, so instead they go after President Trump in the courtroom.

I’m also running against President Trump in this election. The difference is I’m challenging him on his record. His lockdowns during Covid. His atrocious environmental record. His cozy relationship with corporate America. His support for the war machine. His failure to root out waste and corruption in Washington. His service to the billionaire class. His bloating of the national debt. These are the issues that shape American lives.

I'll challenge him on these things, but the Democrats won't. You know why? Because they pursue the very same policies.

"Import the Third World, become the Third World. That’s what we just saw. This won’t stop Trump. He’ll win the election if he’s not killed first. But it does mark the end of the fairest justice system in the world. Anyone who defends this verdict is a danger to you and your family."

It's all true.

The prosecutor was elected on promises to punish Trump.  The judges are elected in partisan elections as Democrats.  But they aren't the only players.  There was a jury too, and the jury didn't have a dog in the fight, yet they were persuaded.

But I don't think DeSantis really wants to have that conversation.  I don't think he wants to talk about a partisan justice system, because we can easily turn that around and look at what he has done with Disney's oversight board, and his removal of various elected local officials, and with him ignoring his state constitution while he gerrymanders congressional districts.

Maybe Ron could have sat this one out.

And he's right..

There comes a time when you just have to agree that it's time to end the bull [BLEEP] and get back to being a great country of laws that were dispersed equally and lawfully, no matter what party you represent.

This is bigger than your hatred for one man.

Words of wisdom.. Good read!!

https://twitter.com/simonateba/status/17...v6sNg&s=19

"In ancient Rome, a group of men loyal to the Republic feared that Julius Caesar was going to make his dictatorship permanent and establish a monarchy. In 44 BC, they decided to assassinate him, thereby restoring the Republic.

In the ensuing chaos and power vacuum, Caesar's great nephew Octavius quickly rose to the top, assumed power, and permanently ended the Republic by establishing a de facto monarchy. After Caesar's death, it came out that he had never intended to create a monarchical system. The conspirators brought about precisely what they had tried to stop.

In 19th-century India, under British colonial rule, authorities decided there were too many venomous cobras in the streets of Delhi, making life uncomfortable for the British residents and their families. To solve this, they offered a reward for every dead cobra residents would bring in. Soon, enterprising locals began to breed cobras in order to make a living from the bounty. The government caught on to this and canceled the program. The breeders, resentful of the rulers and angered by their actions, decided to release their cobras back on the streets, thereby tripling the population from before the government program.

Other notorious examples would include the 18th Amendment establishing prohibitions in the United States in 1920, which was designed to stop the spread of alcoholism but only ended up increasing alcohol consumption by a substantial amount.

Another example is the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese in 1941, designed to decimate the US Naval force in one blow and bring America to its knees. Instead, it shook the American public out of its deep isolationism, ensuring the total mobilization of the country's superior manpower and resources to not only defeat the Japanese but also to obliterate its military for good. The very success of the attack guaranteed the opposite of the intended result, Robert Greene writes in his spectacular book, "The Laws of Human Nature."

I’m curious what the sentencing looks like, are the stupid enough to try and send him to jail? That would be the dumbest move from here.

That's the worst thing that can happen. We need to get overwhelming turnout at the ballot box this year. There is no other scenario. It won't happen because American moderates are [BLEEP].
