Well it will be about a month and a half wait till July's training camp. This is the time period coaches hold their breath.

I have huge hopes for Ventrell Miller.
All reports say he is all over the field and learning a lot from Foye.

I'm sure he will hold down the bench like no other this year!

How's he getting on the field?

OK dummy.

Pretty sure he will be a special teamer this season. And then, you never know if injuries happen he could get some snaps.

Special team is the goal for now. Then we will see in the next couple of years.

I think he'll beat out Muma on the depth chart.

So he'll  beat out another player who won't see the field?

It's Foye and Lloyd.

I just wouldn't expect a lot from a 3rd or 4th string linebacker who hasn't played a down in the NFL.

It's not much different from Hodges, people want these guys to be good, I get that. But we haven't had a reason to be optimistic on either one really. Having high hopes for a guy who's not played a single down is an unreasonable expectation IMO, and leads to massive dislike if he just turns out to be ok this year.

I hope he won't see the field, but things don't generally work out that way in a 17-game season.

No college players...or second year players that were IRed...have 'played a single down'.

with the new scheme we will have 3 Linebackers on the field a MLB, a Weak and a Strong, for Foyue, Lloyd and either a Ventrill or Muma.

They will be in a 4-2-5 scheme the vast majority of the time

I doubt we see a 4-3 out there much at all

So if either Lloyd or Oluokun have to come off the field, who comes in for them?  I think it'll be Ventrell Miller.

Muma.

Like I said, I think Miller will eventually beat out Muma.   I think he has a lot more talent.

Muma probably has an edge in coverage. I don't think Miller was good at that at Florida. He's a good tackler from what I understand. I wouldn't mind Miller subbing in for Lloyd or Oluokon on the 3rd and short situations where a run is likely, but, if it's 3rd and 5 or longer?

Leaning Muma over Miller. We don't know what to expect out of Miller though yet. I am mostly looking forward to seeing how Abdullah operates now standing up and off the edge. He had a promising preseason last year. Hoping he's a late bloomer for his size like Hasaan Riddick was.

Well so far the roster that has been built seems darn good. We should be improved in a bunch of areas. We can get an idea about a week after training camp begins when the pads go on. We really will not know how stout we are untill the first preseason game.
