Trevor cause he's capable of winning a playoff game. Hurbert entered a way better situation and has had a far better team around him yet has a losing record. Dude pads stats better than anyone.

There is no one in the NFL, or that closely follows the NFL, that thinks that Trevor Lawrence is a top 10 QB in the NFL.

Outside of this Jags fan forum, Lawrence is not thought of as one of the best QBs in the league.

Just giving a perspective on reality, cuz sometimes fans lose touch with reality.

I love this team, but we have to admit that the talent around Lawrence hasn’t been top anything until recently? We are hoping our offense line can improve from the bottom ranked to near the top. The drafting has been suspect. All that being the case, it looks like things are coming together for a good year in 24. Hopefully

I think the contract is fine. Trevor deserved it. I just don't think Trevor is an elite QB at this point. I think Herbert is trending more in that direction.

He was really good last year. If he repeats exactly what he did last year or better he's going to be in the running for a bigger contract. He'll probably get close to a $60M per year deal. 

Tagovailoa's situation is now very interesting to watch down in Miami as well.

The Packers plan to get Love's contract extension done before the start of training camp. I don't think he will get a $60 mill per year deal, but I do know that Love's deal won't be one penny less than the deal that Lawrence got.

Why would Love sign for any less?

Now that doesn’t mean he’s the 3rd best QB but I would put him top 5-7. You can certainly like Herbert more than Trevor but if you really think Trevor isn’t there yet, you need to watch the All-22. Before his high ankle sprain (that he likely shouldn’t have been playing on), he was playing very very good football. From the Raiders game in 2022- Bengals 2023, he was on an absolute tear. If he doesn’t get hurt, Jags win the division and no one bats and eye.

Paying him now is the best thing for this franchise and you will likely disappear like all the other trolls when he takes the AFC South crown back.

I believe this is great news for Jaguars' fans. Trevor will begin this season with no contract talk distractions. Is he worth that money is not the right question. When compared to just about all other professions, NFL players are all ridiculously overpaid, but this is the world in which we live. Trevor should definitely be a top 5-10 quarterback this season and for the next decade, barring significant injuries. That means the Jaguars should be in the playoff picture every season in the unforeseeable future with at least a shot at making and winning their first Super Bowl. Shad Khan may not be the best owner, but he has made 2 huge financial commitments to the team's best players and this should make every fan happy!

Completely agree and I do think them the Josh Allen situation played into this. They let him play a year without getting it sorted and had to pay him more than if they'd sorted it in the summer before.

Trevors value is only going one way and when the next wave of QBs get their renewals, especially with the salary cap going the way it is, it will be a very sensible deal for all parties.

I can understand why you have that opinion. Let's look at what I am seeing.

2021 ranked # 32 by the NFL.com
2022 ranked # 6 by NFL.com
2023 ranked #10 through week 11
        ranked #8 through week 12
        ranked #7 through week 13
        ranked #8 through week 14
        ranked #8 through week 15
        ranked #15 at the end of the season.

What I see is a QB in his rookie season with a head coach (Urban Myer) that was mailing it in he finished dead last. In 2022 with a competent coach finished #6 in the league. Then in 2023 he was a top 10 QB that tried to gut his way through accumulated injuries (Ankle, Knee, Shoulder and Head) Now since all the rankings are from NFL.com your first statement is false. So you either too lazy to check, just made this poop up or are the one that is reality challenged.
