The Jets have an elite defense. The Jets have improved their OL. The Jets have an overall good roster. The Jets have a QB that has always played his best when he feels he has to prove people wrong.

I'm sure I heard Skip Bayliss say this.

I know you are a fan of "talking head shows." I really don't know what Skip "says" or thinks. I have heard from others that Skip is a major Aaron Rodgers hater. Judging from what others say, I would doubt Bayless gives Rodgers much love at all. I will defer to a fan of Skip like you, for what he thinks.

Have a nice day!

Between the AFC East and NFC North opponents. There's wins to be had. Plenty of wins. The only challenging teams from those two divisions are, in my opinion, the Packers, Bills and Lions. The rest of those teams? The Bears, Vikings, Dolphins, Patriots and Jets are all very winnable games, and, historically?

They favor the Jaguars in the win/loss column. Jacksonville especially. We've had Buffalo's number for the past few years with Josh Allen there. We're looking at the Bears, Patriots and Vikings with new questions at QB. We've beat the Jets the last few times we've seen them. The Dolphins are a little overrated.

The only two teams, again, that really concern me from both divisions combined are the Packers and Lions. Then we get the Browns and Raiders as outliers. Which could go either way, but, again, both teams have questionable QB situations as well.

It's fine though. Keep on sleeping on the Jaguars. We love it. This team went 8 - 3 last year and were just a few dropped TD's away from being 9 - 2 or 10 - 1 at that point in the season. This team is not that far off. It was just the injuries that kept racking up and racking up fast. Essentially had Lawrence start to physically decline with the ankle injury, then Kirk went out and it was a wrap from there.

Hear me now, believe me later. Jacksonville is a better football team than people realize and Lawrence is being severely underrated and slept on right now.
I have been saying the Jags have a very good roster, & coaching staff. Some here have told me that the roster basically sucks and it's all Trevor as the reason they are a playoff contender. I am certainly not "sleeping" on Jax. Of the 3(Jets, Jags, Texans) I would leave the Texans as the team out of the playoffs. I know they had one decent season, but like the Lions winning the North once in 30 years, does not make them Kings Of The North. A division the Packers have dominated for many years.

If I am not sold on anyone it's the Texans.

Yep, this guy's a troll! Tongue

Does Stephen A. Smith do more than NBA basketball coverage for ESPN and ABC? I have seen him on the coverage of NBA games I watched, but never on anything related to anything other than basketball. If he does cover NFL games, it is news to me.

Yes, I think the point needs to be made, Trevor is not making $55 million per year. He's under contract for the next 7 years, which would put his annual salary at an average of $40 to $43 million per year. So all this [BLEEP] from the national media about whether Trevor deserves to be the highest paid player in the league is based on the very false premise that he is under contract for the next 5 years at $275 million.

Why does it matter what the "media" or anyone else says? What Trevor needs to do is go out and perform at a very high level this season on the grass. If he does that, he proves he is worth every penny of his contract and more.

What specific "media members" said Trevor isn't worth the contract he got? I don't think I have seen one, but I don't watch talking head shows nor read gossip columnists like Mike Florio. Florio isn't an actual member of the media. He is a failed lawyer that started a NFL gossip site. No one should waste one second of their lives reading or listening to one word he says or writes.

I've seen a lot of it.  Rich Eisen show, ESPN, places like that.

Why does it matter what the media says, you ask?  Actually, very little of what we talk about on this message board matters at all.  It's just interesting stuff to talk about.

I think the deal was good for Lawrence and good for the team. Now let’s win some football games. We have stability for 7 years at the most important position in football.

It's not like I am not paying attention to the NFL. What I am NOT watching is talking head type shows like Rich Eisen. Everything discussed there is to attract viewers and clicks. Speculation and misinformation should not be "interesting" to anyone. None of it is news worthy.

I am not knocking you for talking about it, but I am suggesting to all who watch those shows, or pay attention to cats that are not even actual media, like Mike Florio, are wasting their time.

I don't think the Jets are a shoe in to make the play-off's. Even with Rodgers undercenter.
I may get some grief for saying this, but the AFC South and NFC South are the two easiest divisions to win in football. Yes, the Jags have a good shot at winning the division. I am not that confident in them once they would enter the playoffs. I am hoping they show they actually are true contenders. I would love that.

The AFC East comes down to the Bills and Jets. I am not as sold as some on the Dolphins. Do I see both the Bills and Jets in the playoffs? Yes. With that elite defense, I think Aaron Rodgers and a pretty sound offense can carry the Jets to not only the playoffs, but a possible Super Bowl berth.

Yes, Aaron has won one Super Bowl. Most people that say that are fans of teams that have never won one. It's not easy, but I think the Jets are a team that can contend to win it all.

I don't think you'll get grief for saying that. It's kind of a determination by default, just because you have teams like KC, Ballimer, Cincy, Bufaloo in the other divisions that are head and shoulders above their competition.

I don't think much of the Phins, either, they are built for October and September. I can't put any expectation on the Jest just because Saleh has yet to prove his mettle (albeit with a trashheap under center) and Rodgers' age and injury and poor finish in GB. He might be able to return to his old form, but until he does Bufaloo is the clear favorite in the East. The Jest have a very uphill battle to make the postseason, the AFC is pretty darn stacked, competitively. It will take a big time contender or two losing their star player(s) to shoehorn their way in.

No more than we are wasting our time posting on this message board.  It's all just entertainment.  Are you doing anything productive at this moment?  You're pretty much wasting your time right now, aren't you?

I may be doing nothing productive by posting on this forum, but I am being paid for the time I am "wasting" right now by posting on this forum. I am a studio musician and am waiting on some others to arrive.

I will agree this is merely mindless "entertainment" that can kill some time when you have a spare moment. I just choose this over talking head shows and NFL gossip sites.
