Bingo. Defense likely is just improved.

Agreed. Marvin Harrison Jr, Nabers ect are all making plays early in training camp but neither have a corner as good as Campbell or Darby.  I think our defense will be much improved

You have really weird ideas about training camp. You do know that it's not real football, right?

The great ones practice the way they play.  It's part of what makes them great.  With that said it's early and I think the offense will improve as training camp goes on.

You assume they aren't, and then you vacillate by saying it's too early after griping about how it looks. Make up your damn mind, should we jump off the Modis or not?

As Marley mentioned earlier, it's very common for the defense to start faster than the offense across the league.  Put the pads on in camp and get a preseason game or two under your belt before making before making any dire (or non-dire) predictions/expectations/judgements.  And this is coming from a 'need to see more' guy when it comes to TLaw.

It’s never to early to visit the Modis Building.

You are the only one assuming anything. Like DE Lugo, Amp Wig, and I'm sure the coaching staff, I'm able to point out what is happening in camp and realize it's not what you want to see out of our offense and at the same time realize it's to early to panic for the way the offense has looked.  It's clear clear you aren't able to do that.

Nice to read though. Hopefully somebody caught it on film. You see Javon Baker smoking Gonzalez 1 Vs. 1 over the weekend in New England? Would have loved to have had him + BTJ in this camp.

Also read that Davis and Kirk had a good day with Lawrence as well with some nice grabs.

For like 5-6 years all we heard was sunshine and rainbows during the non-contact and training camp before the preseason games, the the offense never truly felt elite or explosive during that time. Even during the 2022 late run, the offense was good, but never truly great.

One of the biggest issue last year was that this team couldn't challenge defenses deep and both deep threats have had limited snaps during the pre-season, not worried at all.

Lastly, I would rather they try to force some of things now to find out what they can get away with when the games actually matter.

That's what makes it a little concerning.  Gabbert and Blake were both usually good early in training camp when the pads weren't on.

Part of the reason for that is because we had no run game.  There was no need for safties, or LBs to cheat up to the line of scrimmage to help in run support, there was no fear of our run game because the oline couldn't beat their guy or get any push.

Trevor forced it to many times last year in certain situations as well so it's not something he's just doing in camp, he needs to break that habbit this year and it needs to start in practice.

Yeah, Gonzalez is coming off a bad injury but I like Baker.  I was really high on Malik Washington as well.

I don't think that is a "habit" you break in 7-7 and non contact practices. That is a habit you maybe break in full contact and pre-season games. Plus you only have limited reps through training camp. If all you do is take the safe throws in practice/training camp, then you never actually practice the deeper or tougher throws. Then when he can take those shots because they are open, the chemistry and reads are off.

Not to mention it hasn't even been 1 week of practices.  People are just jumping the gun because of Battered Jags Syndrome.

This morning 1010 said Braswell is having a strong start in camp.

And they asked - when the pads go on tomorrow, who are you most excited to see? Lloyd’s name came up, and of course Brian Thomas.

Which player are you most excited to see? Mine would be Antonio Johnson on defense and Hodges on offense.

Beathard usually has a above average camp
I mean we smoked the Cowboys in a early pre season game with him as qb

Then look what happened

That leaves Cam Little as the only Kicker on the roster. Competition over it seems.
