That one where he popped the ball out but the WR was lucky enough to catch it again was beautiful.

Also looks like Gipson is back in the secondary. I always liked him back in the Sacksonville days.

That hit was damn good

9/10 that is our ball, lady luck was against us with that one

I love a hard hitting safety! Hat tip to Donovin Darius.

Good: Depth on defense looks very promising. A lot of guys stepped up and contributed. Braswell, Lacy, Edmunds, etc.

Bad: C.J. didn't have a good outing. Aside from a TD, he was missing open WRs/TEs. As well as his throws being under thrown a few times. In the regular season, those could possibly be picks.

Ugly: Depth on the OL. The most noticeable play was the sack on Mac Jones. The defender easily shot up in there and sacked him. Looking at FA or waiver wires as early as now would be smart.

had the leg, missed the accuracy. Kid has a boot.

Good: This D is gonna keep us in a lot of games.

Bad: not getting to see a fully healthy line in action

Ugly: At some point in the third, the local broadcast went to blackscreen and gave us the KC broadcast. Holy moly anyone who gripes about Sexton, this was a trainwreck. Thankfully it returned to the Jaxcast before the 4th.

Bad:
BTJ...the rookie did not separate at all in his routes, it will need to develop and change.

Ugly:
Fortner...nice guy but he continues to be a liability.

BTJ separated just fine on his go’s.

I think we have a backup OT in Walker Little.  I think we have a backup OG in Cooper Hodges.  Beyond that, I have no idea.

Beyond the depth on the OL, I question the actual quality of the starters.  We don't have any pro bowlers.  We don't have any almost-pro-bowlers.  To call these guys average might be a bit of a stretch.

You should hear the local Cowboys broadcasters.  Holy [BLEEP].  Isaiah Stanback is a blithering idiot and the play by play guy is pretty bad too.  At least I got to listen to Sexton on Saturday night.  I’ve never understood why people had a problem with him.

I like Sexton but he was having issues with the numbers this week. I know it's early and they're some new guys, but his eyes are still declining.

I like Brian Sexton, but it did bug me a bit last week when he failed to identify Jaguar players who had made a play.  I understand if he can't identify all the KC players, but these are our own players.  Maybe it was the spotter's fault.  There's supposed to be a spotter in the booth, isn't there?  Sort of like the person who stands behind the Queen of England and whisper's the next person's name in her ear.

I dunno how that works in the local broadcasts, you'd think so. I just know he called the wrong name several times and it was obvious.

I'm putting Scherff in the "bad" category. Yes, Fortner is worse than Morse...and they replaced him.

How the heck is someone not better than Scherff? Maybe he gets better with reps...but I doubt it.
The Other Jag Forum: Duval Football Fans.

Brandon Scherff is no longer that dude.   Next season I want him gone.

For me, it wasn't calling the wrong names.  It was not calling any name at all.  When a defensive player makes a nice tackle, you expect to find out who it was, especially if he's not a starter, but several times, a player would make a nice play, and Sexton failed to say who it was.  But I still greatly prefer Sexton over Frangie.

Because Scherff was rated the 3rd or 4th best pass blocking guard in the League last year and 20th best overall, even with Turtles next to him. It's amazing how bad you look when the guy next to you is terrible.

Leon Searcy talked about that. He says it’s especially true of the center.

so i got to watch the reply of the game vs chiefs.  its early preseason, but it looked like the defense wasn't that good. Mahomes drove chiefs right down the field on opening possion ,of course they are the defending champs.  at the same time the defense some how held chiefs to 3 points. the o-line still looks like a major concern ,not great protection for trevor when team got chance to  drive.  the return game ,and kicking ws impressive. the td pass to entine was mainly set up by the huge return from parker wasghtion.   its just the first pre-season game, fottanttly jags have time to fix things.  BTJ  was very impressive on his seconed attempt  to catch the ball.  the firt one throw to him he just  dropped it.  even top WRS drop balls sometimes.  before i watched the game my expectations were jags defense isn't going to be good ,but the offensse will.   I am still expecting that cause thats ussassley how it works with the jags.  Last year defense kept us in games ,and offensse faileed.   I'm expecting to see the defense fail this season, but the offensse come to life in big ways.   we will see.  I will say this the year that the jags put the team togather all around and all sides of the ball are looking good in that season they will win a Super Bowl.

Dude, if the defense had even gotten on the plane for the browns and bengals games last year they would've made the playoffs.

Just rewatched the game. Hodges moves people and affects the run game. He played most of the 1st quarter and the rest of the game. That’s a tell-tell sign but the important thing is he’s looking good out there and he hasn’t flat out got beat yet.

Good: Special Teams in general. A lot of improvement in our second year players. Washington, Bigsby and Strange are night and day already in my opinion, and, they should only continue to improve. Our new kicker's last name might be Little but his leg sure as [BLEEP] seems and screams BIG. This kid could have a major impact on our team's fortunes this year. Hopefully we just found our next Josh Scobee.

The depth, in my opinion, seems the best it's been in quite some time. I think our secondary and linebacker depth is high quality. I think we're beginning to see the shape of our pass rushing unit as well, which came out of that game with 5 sacks and a number of pressures. Braswell also had a stripped fumble taken away for a TD. So, this is going to be a fun unit in particular I think.

Bad: The offensive line was hit or miss. We saw Etienne get bulled back on the first series. Thankfully, they made up for it with a TD connection in the passing game. Until that core five can show that it's capable of moving guys off the LOS and not going backwards? It's going to be an issue that keeps everybody raising their eyebrows. Now, granted, they were short two starters I believe.

However, with the amount of injuries we had last year, they simply have to play better when called upon. Especially the core five and the core back-up's. We cannot suffer another downward spiral like we did last year because they can't dig their heads out of their [BLEEP] and actually dig their heels into the turf to pick-up chump change with the ground game.

When it's 4th and inches? We need a yard or two. It's as simple as that. Get er done son!

Ugly: Hard to really say. Being a little nit picky here, so, take the next few sentences with a very, very small grain of salt. Washington, as good as he played? Needs to hold onto that football all the way down and through the whistle. He was a little scary on two occasions. Lawrence, plenty of time on that sack he ate, it's year four, he has to be better in that particular spot on the football field. Taking a sack there is a huge difference between a 55 yarder or a 60 yarder FG attempt wise.

CJ and Mac, both, whoever gets the back-up job, it is what it is. BUT... cannot miss wide open opportunities. Mac missed a lay up for a TD on one of his series and C.J missed a wide open Strange on what was a pretty nice route and move in general. He got off clean and that could have been a huge RAC play for the taking.

Again, very, very nit picky there. But, you know damn well that's what the coaching staff will call out and point out during film sessions and practice. You have to.
