Added Tashaun Gipson on a 1 year deal. We must not be happy with the safety play.

I could tell since Antonio Johnson was out there much longer than everyone else. I don't think they're disappointed in him, I don't think there's anyone behind him since Dewey got hurt, so they're going to churn some over the hill guys like Edmonds, Amos, and now Gipson to see if one can do the job.

Gipson will miss the 1st 6 weeks as well.

Yeah, kind of weird, but I don't mind them churning the depth a bit if that's all this is. 

Maybe they want to get some time with him now so they could bring him back midseason (should they need the depth) and this way he'd know the scheme ahead of time? 

Who knows?  I'd wager someone on this defensive staff must have ties to Gipson.

Adding Gipson is an easy decision. He goes 1st 6 games to Commissioner suspended list (not counted on Jag's 53), and only counts when and if Jags add him in week 7 when eligible. He's just a no-spot insurance policy at this time.

We've got a much deeper and stronger defensive line this year, with Hamilton coming back, and adding Armstead, Maason Smith, and Jefferson.

We just need a #3 behind JHA/Walker to step up on the Edges and this DL will be very stout.

I'll be at training camp tomorrow and will be watching to see if someone steps up as an Edge rusher. Gipson seems most likely to the 3rd edge rusher, but I'll also keep an eye on D.J. Coleman and Abdullah.
