Personally - I'd get Hodges ready but not make the move until Scherff actually proves to be a liability in the run game - which would be the most obvious reason to supplant him. That's where he struggled last year. If the run game is legit suffering from Scherff's play at some point in the reg season - pull the trigger.

My thoughts exactly. Just a bunch of smoke being blown up people's [BLEEP] right now. Scherff is the starter until he completely falls off the rails.

I would rather see Hodges get the start the next two weeks over Fortner at Center incase something happens with Morse. It's Fortner, MORE THAN ANYBODY, that needs to be downgraded with an elevated player above him on the roster. 

The team knows this. Hence, that's why Hodges has been getting some snaps this summer at that position. They need to try and trade Fortner off this summer for a value pick. 

He's essentially worthless as a starter...

Baalke can trade just about anybody. He could pull a 6th or 7th RD pick for Fortner I bet. Fortner is at least durable.

My my we are starved for good interior line play. The depth chart just released (second one this year) today shows Tugboat as the backup to Scherff. While depth charts released during training camp and preseason are more of a motivational tool, I believe that could be where he ends up if he does well the rest of the preseason.

2.)  It's all about 3rd down.  Win on 3rd down to win the game.

3.) Playmakers make plays.  The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays.

I want a replacement center for Morse for when he hits the wall, other than that I think we have the guys we need. Harrison and Foster are likely the tackles of the future and Cleveland will be here for at least 3 more. So a center and swing tackle are in the works I hope.
