*** Official Preseason Game 2 bucs @ Jags ***

Duvernay I think is going to be a little bit more involved offensively than we realize. Agnew was used in this same fashion as well. I still think it should be:
1. Christian Kirk 2. Gabe Davis 3. Brian Thomas Jr. 4. Parker Washington 5. Elvis Duvernay 6. Austin Trammell Elijah Cooks dropped his opportunities last week. Also, well over the annual preseason infatuation and luster for Tim Jones. Haven't seen enough in three years to care to keep him on the active roster anymore. I think with this line-up. You have your deep ball threats and big play threats in Davis and Thomas Jr. You have your "undersized" guys that can run clean routes and work the underneath stuff in Kirk and Washington. You then have Duvernay that can out run and get open in certain situations along with special teams value. You also have Trammell who has a bit of a Cole Beasley vibe to him with return ability as well. Just makes the most sense to me from what I have seen so far in two games. The running game looks like it will be better already with an improved and more decisive Bigsby out there. I think this opens up the passing game that much more and having a healthy rotation of role players will be crucial down the stretch. We CLEARLY hurt last year at WR when we had to start overly leaning on Ridley and Engram to make up for the losses in Kirk, Zay and Parker learning the ropes still. We're getting closer to being able to work the play action game more and take those deep shots that we've been missing. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? My bad. Duvernay of Duval. I'll just say that for now on. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky. Looks like it's time to figure out if Trammell offers anything on special teams.

I'll rephrase as I haven't been able to watch all of the preseason snaps:
I legit have no idea as I've been too busy to do my typical geek-out-deep-dive into these kinds of position battles this year.
Trammel has played well but theres already similar players ahead of him
I think it will shake out, ordered by similar play/use style: Thomas Davis Jones Kirk Duverney Parker Trammel to PS To me, this gives the best versatility in the WR room Parker and Duverney in return duties, while spelling Kirk and gadget style plays on offense Tim Jones in ST duties, spelling Thomas and Gabe
WR is pretty straight forward
1. Christian Kirk 2. Gabe Davis 3. Brian Thomas Jr. 4. Parker Washington 5. Elvis Duvernay 6. Tim Jones If they keep 7 then you can make a case for a few of them.
A new broom always sweeps clean.
Poor dude is gonna be Elvis around here all year.

Elvis has looked way better in the pass game than I thought he would. He is a much improved version of Agnew.

They have him returning kicks as it is Tim Jones had 3 special teams tackles all last season. Does that seem like someone who can't be replaced on ST? People need to stop holding on to this guy. He's less able to get separation as a receiver than I like Trammell as a receiver in case we lose TWO starting receivers, like we did last season.

Brandon Scherff is no longer that dude. Next season I want him gone. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Both preseason games Van Lannen has been the the highest rated lineman on the team

Call me crazy, but I don't think we were going to fix our interior OL with the 167th pick this year.
Adding a third returner with a new kickoff rule being implemented that sometimes calls for two returners fielded simultaneously still feels very reasonable to me. I also think Al Davis would have loved this one ![]()

I always had hope he’d develop, he’s an extremely athletic Wisconsin guy. And the badgers o lineman usually translate well to the nfl. Maybe he’s just a late bloomer. |
