I ended up at Verizon yesterday because my phone of probably  6-7 years old finally died on me. I hate having to get used to new tech stuff because so much changes in a short period of time anymore. I got the same make and similar model and that makes the transition much easier.

That being said, the difference in how this phone functions and the update in how apps function is amazing. It's still a bit confusing, likely due to what I just mentioned, but I'm not sad about getting a new phone this time around.

New(er) technology is fun, but it can be frustrating at times. Especially with a device we depend so heavily upon. When I switched from Android to Apple, the customer service rep told me on the phone that she'd made the switch herself a few months prior and warned I would be tempted to throw the phone against the wall for the first couple of weeks because the operating systems were so different. She was right. I cussed at that poor little phone more than it deserved.

My husband's work phone is an iPhone and he loathes that thing. He's only ever had Android for a personal phone and until recently, a work phone. His employer switched for whatever reason and pissed off a lot of employees. He said if there were 'swear jars' at work those things would make serious money just from the iPhones. Lol.

He wouldn't even have a smart phone if one of our clients from our side business didn't require that we use an app where everyone who does any kind of work for them has to use it to sign in/out, describe the work done, etc.

Been a long week just need to unload on here since I don’t have any other outlet family won’t see. Dads in the middle of his third fight with cancer, radiation took its toll on him last time super concerned how much more fight he has in him. Mom trying to help him was doing yard work (drives me crazy she didn’t call and have me or one of my three boys come help) gashed her leg and hand on a brush hog sliced her hand down to the bone and almost cut her pinky off that was Thursday. Friday I took off to take my wife to an out patient surgery, only to find out she has massive blood clot blockages we’ve been admitted at Baptist south since Friday she’s had two surgeries and now one last one hopefully Monday. But between both the parent and wife having major health concerns I’m emotionally and physically wiped out. I’ve been out of my shop for 4 days and the work is backing up. I’m pretty sure my boss isn’t backing me on a promotion I’ve been killing myself to get the last few years so that’s frustrating as hell. But I push on, this to will pass. I’m just struggling to stay positive. Thanks for letting me get it out, it helps to just write it out.

God Bless you, Eric. You have a lot on your plate. All our thoughts are with you.

Keeping your head down and taking it one day at a time knowing you’ll come out the other side is the right attitude. Many times that’s all we can do. Continue being the pillar everyone depends upon.

Thanks man it’s silly but sometimes I just need a pat on the back to keep going.

Not gonna lie on Saturday I had to go to my car and just sit in the car in the parking garage and loose it for a min or two. The wife thing scares me the idea of something happening to her, I just can’t deal with it.

Struggle on, struggler. It's just that time. I dread my future unfolding like this very soon as well. I know it's coming with my mother and father.

Keep your head up and fight through it. That's all we can do. Control what you can. Everything else must resolve itself.

Prayers for all. Keep on pushin' forward, man.

Might need to be assertive with mom. "The boys will be over Friday to do yardwork, have a list ready" kind of assertive. Know that your kids learn from this moment and how you push through. Hopefully they're helping where they can.

If so, a good set of handcuffs could have prevented the incident.  Laughing
