Duvernay, not Trammell.

Cooks>Jones as a receiver. IMO, Jones’ ST value isn’t so much greater than a Cooks’ to justify keeping him.

Kirk, BTJ, Gabe Davis, Washington, Duvernay, and then whomever they think helps on ST the most that can be serviceable as a depth receiver.

Just wondering since he was traded for a conditional 5th and had been the number one overall pick.

I never really paid much attention to Baker, enough to have an opinion on him at least.

I didn't think Mac was good coming out of College, didn't think he was good in New England and I'm not going to suddenly change that opinion just because he's a Jag. Plus he's a dirty player.

Don't hate him or anything, I just don't think he's any good. Simple as that.

Here's a little two minute video of him doing dirty [BLEEP]. It's also kind of telling that barely any of his teammates came to defend him after he got slammed by the Jets player. Could you imagine if that was someone like Mahomes? His OL would have started a brawl if another team did that to him.

Cool video, and it certainly shows what you say.  I am however pretty sure if I had a massive dislike for any player that was in the league for any time I could put together this many clips of them.  Football is an emotional and sometimes frustrating game and most over time let their emotion get away from them. What this tells me is Jones playing QB is just out in the open so kind of stupid to allow it to happen.  In clips like this the author conveniently omits the interactions prior to the occurrences.

The players in the league usually police this themselves as those that are out to hurt people all the time get special treatment as word spreads. The guy straightens up or is out of the league pretty quick.

I haven't seen any of this yet here but will watch for it.

Ok so show me more videos of people diving at player's knees when it's totally out of the play. Show me players twisting other player's ankles injuring them out of play and people sack tapping each other.

Not a single member of the OL came to defend Mac after Mosley slammed him... Sorry but that's very telling. QBs are untouchable and his OL didn't give a single [BLEEP].

Here is one, but there are a ton more out there. I just don't have a lot of massive dislike for people. You can do the work yourself.

good blocks from Cam, Ezra, Engram and Scherff here.
Hope we see that kind of execution vs starting defenders in a few weeks

Doesn't get any better than that. I hope the success we saw with the play action calls carry over more than anything.

Nice chunk plays in the passing game were nice to see.

My only gripe from the pre season
Now this is just me was that we didn't see any forced turnovers/fumbles/interceptions from our defence corps.
Now obviously I can't complain cause we did force alot of 3 and longs and 4th and outs but the big plays were missing

Nielsen isn't tipping his hand yet on disguised coverages and traps

He wants to have safeties, NB, and LBs showing one thing and switching to another at the snap more often than wide are accustomed to seeing.
That stuff tends to manufacture some picks.

I have a feeling we'll see plenty once this defense gets clicking.
Fingers crossed it's more than just talk, but he's referenced this stuff and at least three secondary players have as well. I think they'll bait some throws into unexpected coverage.

The season opener with Miami will be interesting. The one game I circle back to from last year was Miami's loss to Kansas City.

Tua was pretty much kept in check. They pressured him a lot. Stayed on top of Hill and forced a lot of errant passes.

Depending on Hill's injury status, they might have some opportunities to get after him.

From what I saw of Atlanta last year it's pretty clear that he had the defense in vanilla base sets the entire preseason. I didn't see (nor expect to see) any of the craftiness in the scheme that he's known for employing. They wanted the guys out there to see who is athletic enough to play, now we should start to see the strategy on the field too.

Once Skylar Thompson is in the game it will be all Jags.

Terrible idea. Players have enough strain on their bodies as it is, and the NFLPA would never accept this. Really it should be going the other way. I suggest a 3 game season, with preseason games counting.

Now, who are we playing in the Superbowl?

WHOOSH

I'm not him obviously, but I think Mayfield and Lawrence had similar paths. Both went 1st overall to a franchise that was a perennial loser, were saddled with a horrifically untalented roster, suffered awful first year coaching that resulted in a mid-season firing, and had to play with Carlos Hyde. Lawrence luckily got Pederson while Mayfield had to spend a year with Freddie Kitchens before they found Stefanski. Both brought dumpster fire teams to playoff wins in the first couple years, which to me is a very significant accomplishment for both. Interestingly, both suffered injuries in the following season that derail a 3-1 start for the browns and an 8-3 start for us last year. Mayfield ended up traded away after that and wandered in the desert for two years but now seems to have found a new home in Tampa. Lawrence looks sharp as ever so far this year...so this looks like the place where their stories really diverge, but the similarities are pretty significant for the two men. Mayfield was always very talented, had he not torn that shoulder up he's likely viewed much more positively today.

You owe me a monitor.

Also LOLBrowns at paying Watson to be more garbage than Mayfield, grape jerb Haslam. This is a prime example of what happens when the owner won't just sit back and let his leaders lead. Goes all the way back to Johnny foobaw, that team has shot themselves in the foot, hand and face when it comes to QB.

....sounds like a Josh Rosen problem. Some guys just come off cocky and don't garner respect. Hopefully that was an eye-opener for the kid, haven't seen anything here that suggests he's overconfident or not valued by the surrounding players. Maybe he learned a lesson about team dynamics?
