I get chills watching that sometimes. Because it's true. I miss that Trump. He was off the cuff, full of energy, showed no remorse, no mercy, was dogmatic in his views and he did not flinch.

Still voting for the man, but, we'll never see another President like that again, not even from Trump himself. I am sure a few folks will come along and try and imitate that.

Most of us will look right through that with dead eyes.

US Army rebukes Trump campaign for incident at Arlington National Cemetery | CNN Politics

The US Army issued a stark rebuke of former President Donald Trump’s presidential campaign over the incident on Monday at Arlington National Cemetery, saying in a statement on Thursday that participants in the ceremony “were made aware of federal laws” regarding political activity at the cemetery, and “abruptly pushed aside” an employee of the cemetery.

“Participants in the August 26th ceremony and the subsequent Section 60 visit were made aware of federal laws, Army regulations and DoD policies, which clearly prohibit political activities on cemetery grounds. An ANC employee who attempted to ensure adherence to these rules was abruptly pushed aside,” the Army spokesperson said in the statement on Thursday. Section 60 is an area in the cemetery largely reserved for the graves of those who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

“This incident was unfortunate, and it is also unfortunate that the ANC employee and her professionalism has been unfairly attacked. ANC is a national shrine to the honored dead of the Armed Forces, and its dedicated staff will continue to ensure public ceremonies are conducted with the dignity and respect the nation’s fallen deserve,” the statement said.

You and this situation in general prove the point that Trump needs to continue just being himself and "not nice" to win over a group that will hate him matter what.

You people will never give him a win. Harris and Biden killed these 13 people by the way.

Let's suppose that a family member of a soldier in an adjacent grave site invited the Harris campaign to do an event commemorating their soldier.  Suppose Harris accepted the invite and had her campaign film there and released the video on her campaign website.
Naturally, the gravesites of the service members in the Trump video would also be in the Harris campaign video. Because they're adjacent.
You cool with that?

Yes, yes...plead a virus since it contradicts your worldview. Lol.

Here's the skinny...your guy Biden took Arlington pics and posted them on his Twitter account during the 2020 campaign season. No one said [BLEEP] about it. Trump does something similar and it's the end of the lefty brainless zombie world.

Because of course it is.

Biden didn't have to you jack [BLEEP]. So maybe you ought to ask why Trump is treated differently instead of trying to reframe Biden and the MSM's errors as Trump sins.

Well if it's now acceptable for private citizens to invite people to military property, I hereby invite you to Leavenworth!

As usual you pull some ignorant bull [BLEEP] out of your [BLEEP].  Arlington National Cemetery is not "military property" it is a public national monument.  It is public just like any other national cemetery.

President Trump was invited to attend the ceremony honoring the 13 service members I assume because many of the family members know that he really cares about the military.  President Biden and commie-la were not invited because it's their fault that those soldiers are laid to rest there.

On a level playing field, yes, but such equality does not exist.  Perhaps a better question is, should the media employ the same rules equally to both candidates?

If the families are fine with either scenario and everyone is respectful, who cares? But anyone who gets out of line and goes full [BLEEP] should be immediately removed from the service and charged with disturbing the peace or whatever would be a suitable charge. And I mean anyone.

It is open to the public but the military will remove you if you fail to behave correctly.

And apparently Kamala was invited to at least part of the ceremony, but she declined to attend (another post here said this).  So you're wrong about that.

I think I share all of your concerns about all of this.  The idea of the military being politically divided, and gold star families feeling a need to insert themselves into political debates, and denigrate the character of either a current or former President, is extremely dangerous.  The idea that our two candidates for President can't jointly attend a somber ceremony like this, is very concerning.

We are getting way too divided and too personal in how we oppose political candidates.  Respect for the office seems to be a thing of the past.

I think I agree.
The rules they agreed to were more than just "don't be a full [BLEEP]" though.
They were not supposed to film anything.  Only ANC staff was allowed to film.
It was right to ask them to leave for breaking the rules that they had already agreed to.

We don't know the details.
Trump and these family members had a wreath laying ceremony at the tomb of the unknown soldier, and there was nothing unusual about that.

Then some congressional staff and some Arlington National cemetery staff led them to sector 60, where those service members are buried.  At this point they were not supposed to be taking any video, but they did take video, and they did use some of that video in a political advertisement that they posted a couple of days ago. So the video exists, they definitely broke the rules, and they're definitely not trying to hide it.

Also, a member of the army filed a complaint that she was assaulted by one of the people with Trump. We can assume that she tried to get them to stop taking video, and they pushed back on her.

And I should add just for completeness sake that not all of the families or members of families of the 13 service members who were killed at Abbey Gate are participating in these pro-Trump activities.

Really do not know details, but can make a judgement? Did they get pictures of the damage the assault did, or did someone just give the person $1000 to say they were assaulted? How you can assume based on no details it is amazing. Guy did something nice for the guys the current administration abandoned, that is the real issue for the Democrats. They want it to go away.  Kind of like when Hillary abandoned the guys in Benghazi. When questioned said what does it matter now their dead. I wonder if the people in the background of every political ad have signed waivers for the use of their likeness?

From what was reported, MSM claims the person with the mental disorder was assaulted when they tried to stop video/pictures from being taken.

I haven't seen anyone release more info than that other than the families say Trump was invited and Trump has released the permission he had. Trump's team says they have the video but haven't released that.

The video of Trump that was released showed him visiting a graveside and calling the family as they were not able to attend. He also took pictures with the families that were there.

I didn't make a judgement.
The complaint was filed.
The staff member said she tried to stop them from "breaking the rules", presumably taking the video.  When they resisted her she just gave up because, again according to the complaint, to continue trying to get them to stop would have been more of a disturbance to the peace of the place than to just let them continue.
The complaint was dropped the next day, again according to her, because she feared for her personal safety if she continued with the complaint.
Was the whole thing made up for $1000? I have no idea.

You don't need an invitation to visit graves at Arlington.  Whether or not he was invited is irrelevant.  If you wish to be photographed there you have to coordinate that because only their staff can take photos or videos.

From what was reported, MSM claims the person with the mental disorder was assaulted when they tried to stop video/pictures from being taken. Ok, so a complaint was filed then dropped the next day. If there were any way to prove the story Jack Smith would have filed more charges, so (as you say) we can assume the complaint was found to be not valid.

ABOUT US
The Jungle Forums is the Jaguars' biggest fan message board. Talking about the Jags since 2006, the Jungle was the team-endorsed home of all things Jaguars.

Since 2017, the Jungle is now independent of the team but still run by the same crew. We are here to support and discuss all things Jaguars and all things Duval!
