How hot is Dougs seat this year?
|
Pederson on the hot seat? Are people forgetting Khan's track record? The head coaches (not counting interim) who have gotten fired under Khan had the following records in their final season:
Mularkey: 2-14 Bradley: 2-12 Marrone: 1-15 Meyer: 2-11 If history is any guide, Pederson only needs 3 wins this year and he's safe. If you want to look at it based upon their overall regular season winning percentage during their time with the Jaguars, they were as follows: Mularkey: .125 Bradley: .226 Marrone: .348 Meyer: .154 Doug Pederson is currently at .529. He would either need a scandal or a ridiculously bad season this year to get fired and even that might not be enough. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

My experience is if you think that way you are apt to make poor decisions. I learned this over a 10 year period where my job was to go turn around troubled companies. The day they begin thinking like that, is the first day of their decline.

THe NFL is a league of adjustments, especially after the 1st half. Jags just keep doing what they did in the 1st half game after game.
8-3 and having to win just ONE gamei in its last six to win the division and they shat the bed. Pedersen's decision-making has been questionable at best. On another note, Hill should be suspended for his sickening hand cuff gesture after TD. Guess I'm pissed he wasn't jailed. If so, Jags win.
2/10 on 3rd downs yesterday. Lawrence with 21 pass attempts.
What are we doing coach? What are we doing? Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? If we lose to the Browns at home that seat should be warming up. That will be 7 loses in the last 8 games and 7 losses in a row for Trev

I think they'll get it together this Sunday against the Browns.

Jags have lost 6 of their last 7 games and that one win was against the Panthers (arguably the worst team in NFL history).
I'm not about to fire Doug but this offense looks so stale. Everything looks tough and I see other offenses give their QB layups week in and week out. If Doug can't regain his mojo, I'm not opposed to moving on from him in the offseason. Then bring in Ben Johnson or Bobby Slowik.

Hehe, I'm not a #becausejaguars guy, but that phrase definitely ran through my mind when I saw that fumble. As I said in another post though, that was 1 out of 6 drives where the Jags didn't score in the second half. You can't beat a team like Miami if you blank the second half.

I wouldn't draw any hard conclusions from this stat off of one game as sometimes game flow or the specific opponent dictates what should be called. Let's check back on this in a couple of weeks. They about to throw the ball 17 straight times to open the game against the Browns just to spite everyone.

This is what I don't get with the O right now. Dougs first year we played an O we didn't necessarily have the pieces to play but that's the O we wanted. Last year they seemed to be trying to work around the Oline struggles and injuries so was a reduced playbook and what they thought would work and now they seem to be outthinking themselves with what we can and can't do on O We have so many weapons and first half looked so positive but not sure why they reacted the way they did 2nd half and we were never able to get going.
The Jags were not favored in this game. We were expected to lose. It's not that we lost that is the problem, but the way we lost. Everyone knows and those that are honest have been saying that the Miami game was an indictment of the 2023 season.
