The Browns have a much better defense than the Fins and they also have a very good oline, i wonder if Willis will play? Hopefully this is the game we can change the season and go on a win streak and change the habbit we have of finding ways to lose and collapse. This has turned into a habbit of ours so hopefully we can break it.
I think this game is a lot more important now considering how we choked it away. Don't want this bad momentum to linger. Start off 0-2 with back to back road games against bills and Texans, and we could find ourselves in a situation too difficult to recover from. 1-3 we can still go on a run but 0-4 and we're in a world of trouble. Browns is the most winnable of next three.

Lawrence inking a major extension earlier this off season only to leave Miami with a whopping 21 pass attempts. What we were doing gave us a 24-7 lead in the second half that the players on the field lost. Once again the play calling, outside the 4th down attempt that was a headscratcher, was just fine, the players didn't execute. The run game that we criticized so heavily last year was very effective and would've been stellar if ETN didn't lose the TD. The pass game was drawn up fine and moved the ball effectively except when the players dropped crucial passes to kill the drives. No one whines about Neilsen when Josh Hines-Allen didn't get a sack and only had 2 assists yesterday, but on the offensive side everyone wants to blame the guys who aren't actually on the field. At one point he was getting bullied back on his assignment. However, it was effective enough to keep Lawrence in the pocket. You don't know if it was bad play calling, you only know that what you saw was ineffective. And I can't wait for Strange to catch a few passes so you can bellyache about him getting the ball instead of Davis or Junior. There's now five wideouts, two tight ends, and two running backs on this team to feed the ball, if they don't spread it around then someone is getting left out. And if they spread it around someone isn't getting enough targets. That's the beauty of being in your seat, you can always find something to complain about. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

Hopefully Neilsen can stop the Mighty Njoku from destroying our secondary again. We knew the first 5 were the tough part going in, it's a shame they let that one get away yesterday, but half the League have losses today...that's the nature of the NFL. I need to see more from the pass rush next week, Tua just didn't get hit enough yesterday and that let's their offense work. Watson looked terrible yesterday, I think they can get to him and once he's rattled he'll fold. All you know is that the play didn't work, and we all know you can't trust your eyes in this game. I'd have to go back and look at each play to see if an audible or even a fake audible was called but I highly doubt Trev kept changing the pass play called to run plays. If so the staff needs to have a talk with Trevor about that and let him know we were trying to keep the foot on the pedal. Hopefully, the play calling is better vs the browns. This offense is stacked with weapons. If only we had an offensive guru calling the plays on this team. Hmm where might we find one of those?
Watson was sacked six times yesterday. He tossed two interceptions. They had a hard time running it.
They should be able to get after him defensively. Better than they did against the Dolphins yesterday. I could see our defense holding them to 17 points. The offense must get off to a fast start though. Cannot start the first drive off with a damn play action pass and sack. Cannot get on a roll and then cough up the ball like they did. Cannot drop third down conversions like they did. Just be better. Be better. Your home opener should be a "get right" game. If you're going for it on 4th down. Play calling needs to be better. If the game is tied. Give the football more to your Quarterback. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? Watson is 6-1 lifetime against the Jaguars, and throughout history, the Browns and Jaguars always come down to a last minute/second play.
Last season against the Browns, Engram had 11 receptions for 95 yards and 2 TD. The bad news is Lawrence threw 3 picks. We have historically been bad at covering the TE, and Njoku had 2 TD in that game. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Trevor shouldn't even have been playing following his injury on MNF against the Bengals. Watson hasn't played the Jags as a Brown. And Kirk wasn't playing. So yea.... I guess all those "facts" you threw out there matter for this game. Yeah, goes to show that the NFL PI rule makes the game wacky. I had an idea - if it's defensive PI, instead of just giving the yards in a penalty, why not cap the penalty at 10 yards, but the offending player has to sit out for the next few downs? The number of downs they have to sit out would be related to how far down the field they were. It would give an incentive for QBs to "pick on" the best defenders on the field every now and then.
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.
