Oh boy Campbell with a hammy

It appears he will miss some time and we all know how hamstring injuries can linger. The only timeline i can find is he will miss "some time". Here is to hoping for a quick recovery for him and no further db injuries.

Who is the most likely to take his place for now? I am assuming it will be Brown or Prince. Can Jones move outside and is that even viable.

Is it time to head to the modis building?

It'll be a rotation of probably Jones and Prince. With Savage working the nickel.

The contract was questionable for a corner that hasn't proven much, if soft tissue injuries will be an ongoing problem then it's even worse.

Sound logic. But, man, I would really like to see more of Jones trailing the outside WR. I liked what he did this past Sunday at times in coverage. I think it's good practice for him. Especially if he's matched up with Amari Cooper.

I know he's a rookie, and, Cooper's probably one of the best route runners in the business, but, I really want to see that match up and I want to see how much faith and trust Nielsen has in his front four and seven to get after the QB and speed up their processing.

Put Darby and Brown on Jeudy.

Yeah, I don't think Jones is ready to cover Cooper on the outside yet.  This is a game we don't need to experiment imo.  Jones was much better in college when played in the slot, i would like to see him there though.  Hopefully Nielsen puts Darby on Cooper and Brown on Jeudy.

Brown looked decent when he came in for Campbell last year so hopefully he even looks a little better this year.  I'd like to see Prince get some snaps this week and hopefully we bring up Trey Flowers from the practice squad.

I was hopping we traded for Lattimore bit with the Saints win I doubt the Saints would trade him now.  Hopefully we trade for a good vet defender that can help us  this year being we have so many picks again.  We should have signed Gilmore.

Apparently Tyson could be an IR candidate but they are still evaluating. Thats not a good sign.

Next man up.
Respect the game.  Play with a sense of urgency.

1.)  Take care of the ball.  Win the turnover battle.

2.)  It's all about 3rd down.  Win on 3rd down to win the game.

3.) Playmakers make plays.  The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays.

Learn from the great collapse of 2023.

Jeudy and njoku are out I believe. With how shaky Watson looked against the cowboys the dline should have an opportunity to dominate. Browns are missing both tackles too i think. Hopefully it won't come down to the cbs having to cover cooper

If Cooper is all they really have? Then, yes. Should boil down to keeping Ford in check out of the backfield and just doubling up on Cooper and getting after Watson.

I wouldn't be surprised if Nielsen cooks up a gameplan that limits Cleveland to 10 points, no more than 13 if that. This offense needs to impose it's will for all four quarter's.

There's no reason to lose to this team this early into the season considering the state they are now in.

It's not. Considering the contract he just received, however, it does open the door for Darby, Brown, Jones and Prince. I have my up's and down's with Baalke, but, I am fair and have pointed it out over the last year or so.

He's good at identifying, drafting and signing adequate secondary talent. If Nielsen's aggressive front seven is as good as believed to be. I think our secondary can manage without Campbell.

Not to get too far ahead of myself, but, if the secondary doesn't skip a beat with Campbell missing? Campbell might be an interesting piece next year to trade out of Jacksonville if needed to potentially upgrade our offensive line if the price is right.

With an in-season hammy, this doesn’t surprise me.  Probably best to go ahead and do it and open up the roster spot for the next 4 weeks.

FTR - if they go by the depth chart - the next man up in 'Tre Prince

Brown is the primary backup on the other side and Jones is after both of those guys.

I imagine reps in practice thus far have already settled their decision, but it would be Prince if they stick to the chart. Brown got the backup look in Miami, though, so...

It's a shame because he was playing great in this game. He's in his mans hip pocket on every one of these reps below. He's running stride for stride with Hill in the last one. I only remember Tua trying to go his way once, or twice before he got hurt.

I think Brown gets the start in his place, but think we still see plenty of Jones as well. He had a good 1st game.
