It’s not a slump, bad coaching, bad play calling, this is who we are
|
We’ve had a big enough sample size now, we’re four years into this build. It’s not growing pains anymore, this is who we are.
We lost 7 out of 8 games last year and come out the gate with 2 more losses. That’s almost a full season of losses. Trevor is an average QB we paid franchise money to. Potential is just unrealized gains, he’s getting dangerously close to the B word. Our lines suck, and we paid big money to the ends and they suck on both sides of the ball. Josh and Walker were playing against backups and a washed out QB. Our secondary is like Swiss cheese there’s so many holes. ETN is a frail fumble prone back. Tank is off the tracks with one good game that he still failed to make enough impact for a win. Kirk has disappeared, still sainting on Gabe to show up. Maybe BTJ would be something but our coaches are bound to screw him up. We have a bad roster with bad talent we’ve over paid for. Good talent doesn’t go 1-9, ever. Here’s to another rebuild next year this team is washed. Hope I’m wrong but I don’t see it. I see gene smiff level garbage out there! We show less advertisements to registered users. Almost the same roster that went 7-2 at the end of 2022 and 8-3 at the beginning of 2023.
They're in a funk, and other teams have picked up on tendencies. Pederson needs to change a lot of things up to eliminate the tendencies. Also the D played better the last 2 games than they did for most of 2023.
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.
Trevor would light it up elsewhere. They are who they are

Etienne has had one injury resulting in missed time. Didn't have injuries at Clemson either in 4 years. Frail is a wild take

We looked so solid in the preseason too. I'll give this team one more chance but since it will be a Monday night game against the bills, this might be the opportunity we either show we can be taken serious this season or we are pretenders
give up now season is over. lets enjoy beign first ever 0-17 team in nfl history and getting #1 pick so we can contintue to keep loseign over, and over, and over, and over. as we make up excauses every year. the same excauses too.

Ok, just don't come back if they turn it around like you did last time. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

It's hard to get mad at the fumble when he didn't have a single one last year, and we were still winning. I also really liked this https://x.com/Demetrius82/status/1835419502881751443 I am a fan, not a cheerleader.
Watson is now 7-1 vs the Jaguars (Christian Kirk played today)
Trevor is having trouble reading disguised defenses in the shotgun and just no rhythm at all. Get a chunk play here and there but Press Taylor is just running plays. It’s like he’s not adjusting to what the defense is showing. He needs some bread and butter plays that works. There was some pre-snap motion here and there but I didn’t see any confusion within the Browns defense. The motion or double motion once the other guy gets set, and some bunch formations will force them to soften the coverage. If they are in man, you can get a guy to run free across the field, if they are in zone you can hit some quick stuff across the board. But once Trevor gets the football from the gun, the coverage is different and that’s the recipe on how to beat Lawrence. I would like a similar offense to what Tagovailoa has down in Miami. Quick passes, get the football out and into your playmakers hands and let them go to work. Take calculated shots down field, work the running game, the RB screen to slow down the pass rush. Scheme up a nice WR screen to our 4.3 guy. Get the TE some work between the hashes. Starting to look like Byron Leftwich’s shotgun happy offense with no rhythm. Morse got flat out beat on the safety. Brown is still trailing a WR across the field. Darby forgot he had outside containment on the 4th down run. Bigsby has talent but he does some dumb junk, but after taking that lick he came back in the game only to get a penalty on special teams. Duvernay ain’t the same spark as Agnew was. Robertson-Harris was carved up and down the field. He got turned out of the play 99% of the runs. Down there on the goal line they ran it right at him with the QB sneak. Just 1 on 1 with the guard, no problem at all. Cam Robinson pulled on a 2nd and 12 and completely missed a blitzing LB. D’Ernest goes to blocking school, he was assigned to step up and take on a blitzing backer and was legit afraid, he was beat on back to back plays. Not to mention the reason he ain’t a starter because he somehow couldn’t bend the corner and score, instead we settled for a FG. 3rd and 8 in the 3rd quarter with 6:33 on clock, Browns blitzed, Garrett sacked Lawrence, which was on Lawrence. First off, he had Davis running wide open across the middle for a quick slant. Secondly instead of shuffle stepping up into a clean pocket he froze and gave up the sack. He’s got to get rid of the ball on a hot route slant right there. Davis read the blitz perfect, had his man beat, tackles let the DEs go upfield, and the blitz was picked up enough to where Lawrence could have threw the ball but he 2nd guessed it and took the sack.D’Ernest Johnson was ran over like a Mac Truck hit him. And then Cam missed the FG. 4th quarter 13:45 on the clock, Ezra Cleveland missed his assignment and blocked the wrong guy which let a defender run free. Lawrence was able to complete the pass but that could’ve got him hurt. Morse was beat for 2 sacks. Gave up a sack to Jefferson and gave up the sack for a safety which put the nail in the coffin. Both sacks came in the 4th quarter. Also in the 4th quarter on 3rd and goal with 7:35 on the clock, Harrison was tripped by Etienne and he fell on his back which allowed heavy pressure and Lawrence had to heave it. Cam Little made the FG this time. It should have been 16-16 if he made his FG from earlier. 4th and inches, Armstead was pushed back across the parking lot and into the Saint Johns River. He lined up at DT and DE. He was effective at DE but not enough speed off the edge to really get home. Walker got pressure on Watson, but Watson put a move on him and Walker was left in quick sand. Lost containment and discipline by allowing Watson to get on the perimeter and make a throw. On the safety, Lawrence had Davis open on a stop, no pressure at all, Lawrence decided to hold the football and Morse gives up the sack and safety. Actually, Wright got the safety by beating Ezra Cleveland with a simple swim move, and then beat Morse. On the Hail Mary, Lawrence didn’t have any pressure and decided to roll right, which put him in a worse position. Strange almost made a miraculous play but it never had a chance. It’s about to be a long week. At this point we just need a win and take it however we can get it. 0-3 just can’t happen, but it won’t be any easier heading up to Buffalo on Monday Night.
Talk to me after Week 7
If we are 1-6 this coaching staff is gone. I have a feeling we bounce back this week We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
