How hot is Dougs seat this year?

This whole thing is giving me Stafford and the Lions vibes.

Said it last year too. They’re wasting Trevor and his young years. He’s so much better than the trash coaching he’s getting here. A GM who’s infatuated with DL arm length instead of interior OL. A coach who has a tough time adapting when teams figure you out.

If your answer to everything is the OL, then you’re missing the big picture. Green Bay didn’t have their QB and they found a way. Browns were down their starting tackles and found a way. The Raiders with noodle arm found a way.

Pederson is finding new ways to lose.

Packers handed the ball off to Jacobs 32 times. They had a total of 53 runs (14 passes) today. 6 Different players had at least 2 carries.

Yes. LaFleur completed switched it up and found ways to move the ball with Malik Willis….

Doug couldn’t do anything for a whole half with his entire OL healthy.

1-7 in the last 8 games. Still complaining about execution. Still complaining about the OL. Nothing has been fixed.

Baalke needs to go. Taylor needs to go. And if Doug won’t let Taylor go then he needs to go.

To be clear, I only wanted Doug here if he was calling the plays. I don’t want him here otherwise.

Doug won’t take responsibility

This week felt exactly like when we lost to the bengals back up and Joe Flacco. We actually made them look like super stars, but the whole lead up was Deshaun sucks this is the bounce back game for the team blah blah blah. It was an assumed win by many, which flat out I truly hope we don’t hear any more. This team lays down to competition every single time, and that’s fully on the coaching staff. It doesn’t matter if we play a high school team next week, they should be treating every game as the under dog and come out trying to prove people wrong instead of just going through the motions.

2022 Jagaurs were so fun to watch, they had had suspect O-Line. But they figured out to how score. Ya'll remember 2022?

And then in 2023 the offense looked bad. And now we are in 2024. And the offense looks so bad.

I guess for 3 season's we'll continue to blame the O-Line. It can't be anything other than that.

Ok, what's your fix?

Step 1: Fire Baalke

Step 2: Fire Press

Those are the first two steps. Everything else is figured out after.

Neither will be done, are you saying you can't do anything to make it better next week?

Firing press OR Doug taking back complete control will.

Good coaches find ways to score points despite a an average at best line. Today was exhibit A as to what and how. Stefanski came in with a game plan with one of the worst QB starters and the league, two tackles out, and cleaned our clocks

They did nothing special, their team is physically tough and ours is not. What they did was have their version of Christian Kirk catch 3 or 4 crucial passes and have their lines bully ours.

The only thing that could possibly make it better next week is for Doug to come out and start calling the plays again without any coming from Press.

But your question wasn't "what can be done to fix the issues next week?" It was asking what the fix was.

Firing Baalke and Press are the fixes to begin with. If Doug won't fire Press then he needs to go too.

Pointing to the offseason in week 3 when they're 0-2 and lost two games by less than a TD each isn't useful. I didn't want Baalke and have wanted him gone since they promoted him, but that isn't going to win the game next week against the bills.

Bull [BLEEP]. They also had over 10 penalties for over 100 yards or more. Cooper dropped an easy 3rd down pass when he was wide open and they had a fumble recovery negated by a penalty. Stefanski gambled with good calls on 4th downs as well and converted them.

Like I said, they did nothing special. The fumble is exactly what I mean, that guy dotted Bigsby and he lost the ball. The ran the ball in short yardage and won. They, dare I say...executed better than the Jags?

It is special to find ways to gameplan and fit your strategy to the team. The packers did it today with Malik freakin Willis. They whipped up a winning game plan in six days.

I’ll give you a perfect example where it truly is play calling. In the first half, not sure which series, ETN lost yards in a run. Guess what the next play was? A play action! Why would you call a play action when it’s clear there is NO threat of the run in that situation. You call play action when gashing with the run because at the point the defense is losing the guessing game. And it got Trevor leveled.

On the safety; they called a five yard drop into our own end zone. That’s a situation you do a quick pass, something which we excelled at last year with Trevor healthy. He knows how to get the ball out fast and we have the horses to do it at receiver.

The players are not executing, but Taylor is the one tying their hands behind their back.

I’ve been in wait and see mode but we are now 1-7 since holding the #1 seed at 8-3. I personally think the sample size is large enough to know; Taylor and the offensive game plan is an integral part of why this team can’t get out of its way

Who ever is calling the plays is ruining this offense. This team should be 2-0.

This season is lost. Doug isn't going to take over playcalling and the OL isn't going to magically get better. The deficiencies that have shown in both games are going to continue.

The OL is terrible, particularly at pass pro. Play calling is questionable and the attention to detail is appalling. Did I miss anything? ;-)

Most alarming was how flummoxed Doug seemed at his press conference. I don’t think he knows how to fix things. Beyond the OL, I think we’re more talented than the two teams we’ve just lost to.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.
