Yes.

Baalke though? Leaning to no.

I'm not sure of the relationship or ownership of the roster building, but this team has needed to fix the offensive line for several seasons and they either make bad/lateral moves or no moves. Drafting is not Baalke's strength, pro personnel is, and that's handicapping what this team can accomplish long term IMO.

No more half measures. If one goes so should the other. It’s one of many reasons we keep staying mired in poor results

It took years to get a good coach, it's a shame to lose him over a bad GM. We should've fired Baalke along with Caldwell and Marrone.

Even if we have a losing season, can we even expect Shad to fire both the GM and HC? He recently even said this is the best Jags roster in Jags history lol, he’s clearly going to keep glorifying Baalke and blame it on coaching. I also believe he said in the past he’s fully against a full tear down. It’s truly unfortunate!

1st and 2nd downs (not including 2 minute drills) and when the win % is between 25% and 75%.

Basically when the game is still close, are you mixing it up on 1st and 2nd down or are you stubbornly always running.

And is that successful passes on those downs or how often we pass on those downs?

Yes.

With this current team? Not really.

I started the season at "ice cold" and I'm now sitting at "pretty warm"

It's just very telling how he acts in his press conferences these days. No emotion, no fire, no accountability even. And when he does get asked a hard question he gets angry and deflects. More than just typical "coach speak" with it. There's a stark contrast between Trevor's post game press conference and Doug's.

And I do wonder if Trevor's "if you don't like getting called out for a mistake then maybe you should find a different job" comment was a subtle jab at anyone in particular. Idk. But Trevor seems pissed off and like he wants to actually fix this, Doug just seems like "aw man, well this stinks" It's very off-putting to the fans to see him have no answers for anything and what seems like minimal urgency about it right now.

I think Doug can keep a team rolling when it has momentum and talent. He did it with Philly and won it all.

The worry I have is the path looks so much harder now, especially in the AFC. Look at the Chiefs-Bengals game yesterday, it was a tough, big hit, got to have it plays and both teams giving everything. The South is now a tough division to win and every stage of the playoffs will be tough.

I worry if he has all the required skills to get past all of those hurdles. You need contributions from every single person and coach. I thought we were building towards that but the current run and lack of ideas and ability to change it is getting me worried

To me the issue is that it was claimed that Doug was an scheme / X's-and-O's guy. Those guys love to problem solve and tinker to fix issues and never give up on the solving the problem.

Except since the beginning of last year, even during the 8-3 start, he keeps harping on execution and not making mistakes. That and answering play calling questions.

If you are actually a scheme type guy like Reid, Shannahan-tree, etc., you should be self scouting to have a scheme to fit your players. Or get players who can fit your schemes, but nearly everyone on the roster was acquired after Pederson got here --- he helped picked them. If you are a scheme guy, then you should know the scheme and plan before to where the precise play calling shouldn't matter as much as it had.

I've never gotten the sense that he is doing that. Heck they are playing the same way they ended last year. If he was going to find solutions, plans (B, C, D, E, F), he had a whole off season to do it and it hasn't happened yet.

Basically I started the season with his seat at "warm with the potential of spontaneous fire". At this point the seat is full in a blaze of a fire and they are just trying to keep it under control before it burns down the rest of the house.

The coaches are supposed to be professionals possessing the abiity to dissect an opponents tendencies, then attack their weaknesses. Or, at least, make adjustments at halftime. I have ZERO confidence in this coaching staff and have lost all confidence in Pedersen.

TL is never going to survive the season with the inept, sieve-like OL. Also, I so tired of defensive players trying to deliver kill-shot hits. The majority of the time they are not making the tackle; I willing to bet they have a 30% miss rate. The tackling overall is horrendous.

Whn your two best players are your punter and place-kicker you are in deep shite.

We used to make adjustments back in 2022. I remember when we'd start off slow, but Doug dialed up new schemes and got the players amped for the 2nd half.

In 2023, I could tell there was something off. People were saying it's the O-Line. The O-Line has been weak since 2022. But in 2022, we seemed to figure out how to still be successful.

Press Taylor has taken over this offense, and Doug is too old/weak/tired/comfortable with just riding the status quo. He's got his money. He'll eat this year, and then ride off to retirement. All while protecting his beloved coaches.

The O-Line is bad. The O-Line has been bad since 2022. It's not a new thing. What has deteriorated is Doug's passion on how the offense works.

What's worse is that the fact that Doug has decided to just phone it in, we are seeing our Franchise QB regress. We're watching the house burn down. The house being our players. We're watching this house burn down and we are calling on the coaches to fix the situation. The coaches are supposed to figure out how to put out the fire.

But instead of blaming the firefighters for their inability to even get the fire hydrant turned on, we're blaming the house for burning down.
