It’s not a slump, bad coaching, bad play calling, this is who we are

Get Trevor out of the shotgun, then you can get some rhythm going with a strong running game.

They have literally run more snaps under center this year then we've ever seen from a Doug Peterson offense in Jacksonville

You might need to rewatch weeks one and two

How about we get the play in quicker so we have time to read the defense and change it as needed.   It seems we are always breaking the huddle with 10 - 15 seconds on the clock.

First two weeks have indicated this already though. They're doing more from under center and they actually have a strong running game. It's just EXTREMELY situationally dependent.

We're probably one of the best run first offenses in the NFL at the moment on 1st and 10+ yardage situations. Averaging 5 YPC I believe.

The issue is the short yardage game on the ground, which was the same exact issue from last year. I think they have spent the first two weeks testing the waters out enough.

I think we'll see the adjustments on Monday Night Football and the winning streak will begin. The answer, or, solution, usually dwells within the middle.

I expect a few things will happen soon.

1. They'll start taking bigger risks almost immediately moving forward in the passing game on 1st and 10+. Geared towards BTJ primarily with underneath options made more readily available as an insurance.

2. They'll start incorporating more quick hitter routes, spread formations and TE stacks in short yardage situations to supplement their poor running ability in this area.

3. The pass protection inconsistencies would suggest that they'll need more time bought for Lawrence. Fully expect more designed plays that flood one side of the field while flushing Lawrence out of the pocket deliberately.

Once they start getting the above three concepts hammered out into their standard approach? They'll be good to go.

They can eventually get to that level of imposing their will and wheeling and dealing out the running game more comfortably.

Id love to be a run first team with a FB like the Chargers are doing and like the way SF plays.  With that said why, should have added some maulers on this oline.

What I will be watching on offense.
1. Play calls in on time or let TL pick his own.
2. Get Trevor to the line with enough time to evaluate the defense.
3. Once he gets to the line the coach cannot change plays.
4. Can the line hold it's own. I am past the point where I hope they can dominate.
5. Can the line open a little hole at the point of attack?
6. Can TL execute a 5 step drop before defenders arrive.
7. Will the Jags move the pocket around or leave TL in the same spot each pass play.

This list goes on for quite a bit and I will not bore you with the rest. We have some serious organizational issues that need to be addressed.

I’ve noticed this too. Seems like always on the verge of delay of game.

Situational dependent is a good way to put it and then it becomes a catch 22.

To the other comment, nothing to do with the breakdown of which formation is ran more.

We don't want to part of that,  they destroyed this week.  We're the first obvious candidate for door mat of the league so far this season.

They played scared. They were on their heels, you could tell Allen's mobility was a concern.

The O moved, but we are allergic to accomplishment. We get on a big stage and faceplant hardest. We get 8 yards on 1st down, and then false start on second. We get near the red zone and forget what this leathery handegg is for.
