Amber Thurman was 28 years old. She loved being a mom to her six-year-old boy. Her last words to her own mother: "“Promise me you’ll take care of my son.” Her son will grow up without his mom because of Donald Trump's Dobbs' decision and Georgia's MAGA abortion ban. https://x.com/Leahgreenb/status/18360119...1_&ref_url= We show less advertisements to registered users. The mother took abortion pills that were legally prescribed to her in another state. She appeared at a hospital in GA where abortion is not legal. The fetus was already dead, but not completely removed. It was rotting, and the mother's life was in danger.
The law in GA did not make it illegal for them to operate nor did it require them to wait until the mother was near death before operating. The doctors were afraid that prosecutors would accuse them of being "accessories" to an illegal abortion. But they werent. The baby was already dead. They had verified that the baby was dead and they had no history with the mother. Instead of manning up and doing what was right, they behaved like cowards in the face of a new and untested law. The pro-life side won but they have not been prepared to foster cooperative relationships with medical providers and prosecutors. Those two don't trust each other. The medical board is supposed to be an intermediary between them. That's not working out. The medical boards just want these laws to go away. The other thing we need to learn from this very sad story is, most women who have abortions already have kids they are raising. They know what it's like to have an infant in the house and they would do anything to not deal with it again. Pro life people need to focus on them - offering to help them keep the baby if they become pregnant, and encouraging them to get IUDs before they get pregnant if they don't want to be pregnant again.

I read that the group that reviews these cases (where other doctors determine if a death was preventable) are like 2 years behind. This is the same group that determined that this woman shouldn't have died. SO, that means that there have ALREADY been a bunch of women who died that shouldn't have. They just haven't researched their cases yet.
It sure would help if you knew the whole story you jacktard. Freaking Mike had to call you out. Lololol

How many women have died from this? Is it akin to unarmed black men being shot by the police?

This whole issue is a State decision. It always was. The people in the state decide this law. It is not factual to blame any president, as they cannot change this. Those that do blame a president are either uneducated or lying or have another agenda. This issue according to the constitution needs to be an amendment. There are 4 ways to accomplish this if federal control of this issue is desired. Those that do not know this do not need to serve in public office. Do not vote for them.
Those that insist on fanning these flames are also uneducated or have another agenda looking to fool people. Do not trust them.
A new broom always sweeps clean.

Are we playing the 'Politics is Killing People' game? Oh, cool! Here's one:
Illegal migrants lured Jocelyn Nungaray, 12, under bridge, assaulted her for 2 hours before killing her: prosecutors (msn.com) The illegal Venezuelan migrants accused of murdering Jocelyn Nungaray in Houston lured the 12-year-old girl under a bridge, where they stripped her naked to the waist and assaulted her for two hours, disturbing new court documents allege. Franklin Jose Pena Ramos, 26, and Johan Jose Rangel Martinez, 21, allegedly bound Jocelyn’s hands behind her back during the brutal assault, then strangled her and dumped her body in a bayou, a Harris County court heard Monday...
Sounds like Karma to me..

She was also pregnant with twins, which has a higher percentage of cases of not having all the fetal tissue expelled after taking the pills than single fetus abortions with the pills.
What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is agoin' on here???

FL DOH just released helpful guidance on this exact issue. Their statement explains many cases when abortion is allowed and clarifies that the legal definition of abortion is more specific than the medical definition. Essentially says providers will be investigated if they fail to provide timely care in these situations. Doesn't necessarily apply to Georgia law but I'm glad to see government reaching out to providers this way. More needs to be done. There needs to be collaboration and trust.
