I think everyone is in agreement that he’s special and going to be a premier WR in the league. It should be filing to watch him and Trevor over the next decade. We just really really have to figure out out O line and coaching situation and stop wasting away their years.
This man need 8-10 targets per game minimum. He is our best WR already

Some will argue that could be happening already (and, hey, I'll be fair here), it's possible he's been the read and *enter suspenseful music here* Lawrence has either missed him or failed to pull the trigger. I think he missed him at least twice in the loss to Cleveland now for sure in that Jackson Kruger Sport's breakdown. He had him on the rub route running inside from the 5 yard line for a possible TD and then he probably missed him on that zone defense where he forced it to Davis. He motioned BTJ from left to right and it genuinely looked like he had at least a step on his defender running tight along the sideline. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I say when he gets one on one with a corner, throw it deep and let the kid go get it.
A lot of Bears fa s are mad they took Odunze over BTJ. BTJ does look like tue better WR so far

I said on there though, it's not really fair to judge Odunze after only two games, especially since Caleb has been god awful. While I do think BTJ is the better player and can be (already is?) a top WR in the league, Odunze hasn't really gotten a fair shake in his limited time yet.

In the long run, it'll benefit the both of them. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky. Is he getting open and looking good and Williams just not finding him? Our passing game has been just as bad as the Bears if you dont count what BTJ has done. He has been the only bright spot. He hardly had time to throw and was running for his life. IIRC they pressured him 25 times in that game and had 7 sacks. I also think they had 11 or 12 hits on him as well. They blitzed him a bunch also, something like 45% of the his drop backs they blitzed.

That second half to the tinhorns on SNF was one of the worst showings of pass protection I had seen in a long time. The Patriots offensive line was equally atrocious on TNF. I don't think our offensive line is as bad as people make it out to be. Outside of the short yardage situations where they can't run block to save their lives and the obvious passing situations on 3rd and long. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? They can run block. Just when it's 1st and 10+ yardage situations. It's when they get into specific situations where the play calling becomes either too obvious and the defense predictably snuffs the play out, or, something goes to [BLEEP] as far as execution. I am not buying this narrative nor the excuses right now. Coaches need to figure this out going into Monday. They figured it out in 2022 and 2023. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky. Teams that can run block can line up with heavy personnel, goaline or whatever and ram it right down the defenders throat even when they know it's a run coming and they just can't stop it. We haven't been able to do that for years and most teams in the league can do that when they need 1 yard. When we do it we lose 2. We have to keep the defense guessing for this offense to be successful. We aren't able to impose our will on the opponent like good teams do. We show less advertisements to registered users. I am not buying this narrative nor the excuses right now. Coaches need to figure this out going into Monday. They figured it out in 2022 and 2023. That's because we're not built to be that way. It's a zone blocking run scheme and they're a west coast offense at best. This is why I continue to kick the coaching staff down. They need to stop roleplaying as the Washington Redskins of the 1980's and play lilke they're built to play. Quickly. Up tempo. In and out concepts in the passing game with a few rollouts designed to buy time for deep passing plays. Go look at the Dan Orlovsky breakdown that Cleatwood shared last week. I added it to the Buffalo game thread. It's deserving of reposting, because, again, if the coaches maybe made a smart decision in not asking a WR to block a DE there? In addition to Lawrence selling a half [BLEEP] hand off to Etienne? They had Strange wide open on the opposite side of the field for a massive play, potentially a TD there. All they needed was an actual blocker capable of holding it down against a DE there. A 6th offensive lineman like Tugboat or Little there maybe, or, an actual TE like Luke Farrell instead of a WR being tasked to do something he has no business doing to begin with. That's 1,000% piss poor coaching on Doug and Press. 1,000%. There's no [BLEEP] excuses for that dog [BLEEP] decision making out there. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I know exactly what we have and how we are built but even in zone blocking schemes if the players are good enough they should be able to get 1 yard. There are a bunch of olines theought the history of this game that ran zone blocking schemes that when they needed 1 yard they could run a heavy formation or goalie with a FB and plow up the middle for one yard. Cam Robinson isn't built for a zone blocking scheme either. (05-13-2024, 10:29 AM)Caldrac Wrote: Today's question on the 1010XL radio show was about his rookie season stat predictions. I went with 70 receptions for 1,025 yards and 11 TD's. I think he'll be utilized a lot inside the redzone personally. His size and footwork are great in my opinion for a guy coming out of college. Expect a lot of 50/50 contests coming his way and going his way with Lawrence slinging it.Look at you! He's currently on pace for 72, 1168 and 8 TDs. |
