The Common denominator and the major problem with this franchise
|
There is only one common denominator between all the Jags rebuilds in over the last decade.. I know he wants to Win but going by his other sports team does not know how to achieve it. The Major problem I see with him is he always leaves a few bad apples around to poison the new rebuild. He always leaves some leadership or coaches behind from the losing regime and they poison the new regime. I appreciate what the guy has done for the City and keeping the team in the city but he just isn't a good owner when it comes to knowing how to build a success. He is loyal to a fault. We have went through several rebuilds, GM's, Head Coaches, front end staff underneath him but he keeps repeating the same mistake. Instead of a complete house cleaning it's patch work and it takes years to reveal the patch work isn't working.
I know he wants to win, He has spent billions over the years to try to win, He just can't seem to clean house fully and it is a cycle of the old spilling into a new regime Under him we have by far the most losing franchise record in the league We are only 0-2 and this season could dramatically turn around. I personally do not see it because I see the same Jaguar things I saw last year. Lets hope something clicks and they go on a run. I respect he has dedicated the team to the city and believe he has tried his very best to do whats best for the team. It just hasn't worked out for the fans. The Stadium is nice, the screens are nice, but the fans just want to win. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Gonna be fun revisiting this during our playoff run later this season.

Has Khan made some mistakes in the past, of course he has but show me an owner that hasn't. You've got to remember there's 31 other teams trying to do the exact same thing and 31 teams end the season disappointed. It's not as simple as clean house and you'll magically find a staff that makes every correct decision and wins it all. The best teams in the league have had years of stability and roster building and most still haven't won a SB. I can't fault Khan for trying even if its not worked. Plus the stadium has earned him a lot of respect from me. He could easily have been a greedy billionaire and moved the team and focus on the bottom line but he made a big commitment to Jacksonville in not just a stadium but the City. Look around at teams like the Bears who are trying to hold the city to ransom.
The only real mistake I blame him for as he's learned to be an NFL owner is the failure to get Andy Reid here and settling for Gus Bradley. Had he hired Reid this is an entirely different franchise today. He's a patient owner which has its pros and cons, but for the most part he stays out of the way and spends whatever money he's asked to by the people he's hired to run things. That's a good owner IMO.

The thread isn't getting any support from me. At all.
Mr. Khan supports the team, the fans and the city and he wants to win. Being a successful NFL owner ain't easy.

Brandon Scherff is no longer that dude. Next season I want him gone. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Khan said this was the best team assembled in Jags history. The 99 team hangs 50 week in and out on this team. Khan is as delusional as it gets, and as the OP said, a true tear down WILL NOT HAPPEN. Bad apples will be retained to ruin a rebuild. It’s disgusting.

As long as he keeps his frizzy headed [BLEEP] boi of a son busy with wrasslin and the hell away from Trevor Lawrence I'll be patient.

I mean, you guys can be upset with Khan all you want but he's the only person keeping this team in Jax. If he ever sells, the team is gone.

That is true but it seems he doesn't know ball at all. Does he watch any other team play? Him saying this is the most talented team and staff ever in Jville is crazy.
No Fun

That speaks for his knowledge of the game. He means well and appears to be a good guy. It just has not worked out. One thing I can say is we will not be getting another Monday night game for a long time again.
It just speak to how bad it's been here for the last decade.

We've been screaming for two seasons to fix the lines and we still get RBs and CBs and LBs when we don't really need them. Drafting and the philosophy of the Trenches continues to be what's wrong here and they just don't seem interested in fixing it in any meaningful way. Or if they try they make a bad choice. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
I used to laugh at the thought of Tony being the GM with his money ball approach, but I'd take him in a heartbeat right about now.
