You can start hiring a team of consultants to find your VP, GM and HC going into next year. The sooner you do this, the better. You will have months of data and analytics to look at with historical context to vote "Yay" or "Nay" on specific names from various backgrounds.

You could fire Baalke and have Cam Robinson and Brandon Scherff benched/traded/cut before next Sunday. That would be a great start.

This.

About time. He's built a team that is nothing more than a Roth IRA / 401K for coaches and players.

In an equalization era, it take some effort to remain this bad for this long.

Khan is always laste.

Look how long he held onto Dave Caldwell and Gus Bradley. Those two had historic level losing records and still took him years to fire him. I was Surprised when he let old Urban go. I think Khan means well and wants a winner but his loyalty is his downfall. Loyalty is good in life but not great for business or sports.

This.

The coaches definitely need to start playing the younger guys to see who should be part of the nucleus going forward. Cooper Hodges, Walker Little, Prince, Jefferson, Maason Smith, Washington and Bigsby all need to be given more playing time. This team is obviously not going to the playoffs- looks to me like 6-11.

There are some good players on this team like Foye, Cisco, Allen, Walker and Engram. Harrison can become a good left tackle if able to stay healthy. As far as Lawrence goes, he is still capable of being a top 10 q.b. if given better protection. Right now, his confidence is at an all-time low but he and his big contract are not going anywhere.

I think the writing is on the wall. I listened to Mia this morning. Most of these reporters see that this current front office and coaching staff are not long for this franchise. This is just a PR move right now. Let Doug some slack to at least try to turn this around, after all, the season isn't technically over until we lose to the tin horns and/or clots. There's no reason for Shad to go nuclear quite yet.

But I have a feeling this is an evolution with Shad Khan. He gave this staff an ultimatum. This was a playoff year, nothing less will be acceptable. But there's no reason to fire anyone yet when we're still technically playoff eligible.

I think Shad has finally had enough of mediocrity and those comments before the season of "this is the best roster ever assembled" and whatnot, was more of veiled pressure on the coaching staff and FO that it's time to produce a viable product.

He seems fed up just like the rest of us after letting this experiment go for this long and people will lose their jobs. Like you carp8, I think the deathblow will be if we lose to the Tinhorns - especially in an embarrassing fashion. Nothing will be gain by firing the entire staff immediately but I think he might hire some consultants behind the scenes while this current staff is still in their positions.

Imagine writing a check for a quarter of a billion dollars essentially for our "franchise" QB and a $150 million dollar contract for Hines-Allen. These guys were our cornerstone players and they have fizzled thus far into this season.

The team has gone 9-8 the past 2 years while adding to the roster. No coaching changes except for DC. A Super Bowl winning HC at the lead.

All of this in consideration- last night was the WORST loss in franchise history. By far. Can’t remember a “playoff quality” team playing like that without significant injuries. Something is deeply wrong. Very deeply wrong.
This team has gotten worse every single week since the Bengals game. Pederson has no answers. Baalke has no answers. The offense is so stale. The secondary is decimated. Kirk looks lost. Gabe looks slow. BTJ Good! Trevor looks off in the pocket. OL continues to suck. Linebackers missing assignments. Receivers dropping passes. Engram is hurt.

It's only week 3!

For me, I'm firing Doug. I'm firing Baalke (should have been done a long time ago since he's a snake). I'm firing Taylor. Making McCoy the interim HC and having a pass first offense which feeds BTJ as the #1 WR.

Yeah and then your QB either sails passes, throws picks, and or dies behind his terrible o line.

I don't exactly understand what this means. Don't the Jags already have a pretty large, and well funded analytic department to help make decisions on rosters, players, etc?

Do you mean like an outside audit of the entire football organization like the Bob & Bob from Office Space? If so, is that like football minds? Former players, coaches, FO people?

Not saying it is bad idea. I'm just confused how exactly that would play out and how it could actually help. Shad has know he doesn't know football for awhile, but his fatal flaw has been consistently trusting the wrong football people. I would worry about the consultants he would choose to help him make any decisions.

I've done some executive coaching in my work. It's mostly review of existing procedures for OPI, a look at the SWOT for personnel, and a road map suggestion to reach the desired end state. I'd be glad to provide this service to Shad for free.

Step 1. Fire Trent Baalke.

Step 2. Hire Thomas Dimitroff & Rick Spielman to fill the roles of VP of Football Operations / General Manager.

Step 3. Step back, let them hire their own coaching staff.

That's it. That's really it. If Lawrence is as good as advertised? Dimitroff and Spielman will build the team around him, address the weaknesses and get the team back on track. Would expect a good coaching staff is hired and a good roster is built, the correct way, via the NFL draft.

I don't know what radio personality I was listening too, but that's essentially what the Commanders ownership group did when they bought the team away from Snyder...  They apparently brought in some consultant group that helped them make Front Office hires, etc...

Seems like not such a bad idea...

It’s a defensive scheme issue. You can add Buster Brown to that list. When you know the defense is in man, you can target specific players. Lloyd, Muma, and Brown are getting that tail tore up. What about Armstead, who was signed a big contract to sure up the middle is he even starting?

There becomes a disconnect when the players want to run a different scheme. It seems to be the same thing with Trevor and Press.
