We have 14 games to go!

#1

So, these first three weeks have been brutal. We lost two winnable games and then got destroyed in a historic way on primetime. Nothing seems to be working on offense or defense (I’ll leave special teams out of it). What do you guys need to see the rest of the way out of this team to feel good about the year with some redemption?

For me, I need to see Pederson calling the plays with Trevor getting back on track as a QB. If I see that, I would be happy with a 7-10 season. That is about the best I am personally hoping for (though statistically more likely we win 3-4 games based on current performance). Baalke being replaced at some point would be icing on the cake. What would it take for you guys to end the season with some optimism?

It's a long way to the top, if you want to rock n' roll.

If we keep playing the way we are now, i see 5 wins on the remaining schedule. So, 5 - 12.

This seems reasonable from where we sit now.

How far would we have to exceed that for you to be happy with the season at this point?

Just find a way to win. That’s it.

It would take the following for me to leave this season with some optimism:

1. Fire Baalke ASAP.

2. Hopefully give more playing time to young guys and have them show enough promise to become building blocks for the future. Included in this group are:

Maason Smith
Myles Cole
Ventrell Miller
Jordan Jefferson
De'Antre Prince
Cooper Hodges
Tyler Lacy
Parker Washington

Let's see what these guys can do and give them enough playing time/experience so the coaches can determine whether they have what it takes to be significant contributors in the future.

3. The players need to show more effort/desire; those who don't should be released.

4. Doug Pederson needs to show more anger on the sidelines and in meetings. If his heart isn't in it, let him go. Hard to believe he has gone from the savior of this team to a liability.

Well, if it is any consolation, the Bengals are also 0-3. As well as the division rival Tacks. Clots are 1-2. A win against the Tintins would still keep it close in the division.

That is a good point.  IF the team could somehow get a win this Sunday we are close in this Division.

If we win Sunday, much of the noise will die. Trevor needs to play the best game of his career

Not if they lose to the Colts the following week. The only way the noise dies is if they beat both Houston and Indy.

Even then, they follow that up with pseudo-spotlight national televised game in London against the Bears and Patriots that will lead into all the Sunday pre-game shows. So they have be competent in those games and Trevor has to show something or they national press will continue to harp on this team.

Depending on how the Cowboys, 49ers and Bengals fare in this upcoming stretch, those teams may take over the bust spotlight some or all recover and allow it all to focus on the Jags.

This team would have to have a complete turnaround to compete with those guys.
